Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core Review

You really can’t go wrong picking up Crisis Core. If you have been sitting out on the PSP camp waiting for good reason to buy one, Crisis Core is as good of a reason as ever to drop the dough on Sony’s handheld. While the main quest is short, the missions and extras are enough to keep you going for hours at a time, and its missions make it the perfect game to play when you only got a few minutes to kill. For gamers in general- if Square/Enix stripped away everything the game had in common with Final Fantasy VII, it would still be a great game on its own.

For FFVII fans- this is a no brainer.

category rating comments
Creativity 4 Sure, it’s a rehashed world from almost a decade ago, but going to new areas and levels all having some distinct feel really works well. They busted their brains for this one
Graphics 4 Overall the graphics are damn good, despite some disappointing character models/level designs
Sound 3 Sure, the music isn’t bad by any means, but without Nobuo Uematsu, it just seems out of place compared to the amazing FFVII soundtrack.
Longevity 5 After the main quest is done, you will be going ape-sh*t over the missions trying to get those things done. Those things are addicting.
Fun Factor 4 Despite a few hiccups, the combat is innovative, and the game has mini-games a-plenty, too bad there are some small nuances that took the score down.
FINAL VERDICT: 4 out of 5 stars
