Empire At War: PC
Driver Heaven :: Monday, March 27, 2006
There used to be a time when every game released by Lucasarts was a classic but recently we?ve had many games attempting to cash in on the hype of the Star Wars movies. Games like Clone Wars, Bounty Hunter and Starfighter (on consoles) didn?t leave a lasting impression on anyone and many would say were only released knowing the star wars fanatic would have to add them to their collection. Sure, there have been a few diamonds in the dirt like the Knights of the Old Republic series, the Jedi Knight series or even Republic Commando which all captured the essence of the movies.
The Apprentice
Strategy Informer :: Monday, March 27, 2006

Description: A game as transparent as a bad comb over. While the hype may have lead us to expect something a little more substantial, you can see through it like scalp through wispy hairs. The moral of the story must be that no matter how good your hairdresser is, if there isn’t anything there, there isn’t anything there. That, and making crappy games will see you mocked mercilessly, in much the same way having silly hair will.

Saitek ST90 Joystick @ ThinkGaming.org
Think Computers :: Monday, March 20, 2006
Quote: “Saitek makes some great products, not long ago I reviewed the Cyborg Evo Force joystick. The Cyborg would be considered high-end. Today I have what some would consider low end, not cheap but lower priced. I have the Saitek ST90, billed as: ‘The revolutionary foldable stick for professional gamers’, I’ll admit I am not a professional gamer by any means, but I do love to play games when I get time, which is rare these days. The Saitek ST90 is a cool looking joystick that anyone can afford.”
We play Loco Mania…
Strategy Informer :: Monday, March 20, 2006
A game about trains. A game about getting trains around a track. A game in which you flick switches and give the green or red light for trains to go or stop. Are you enthralled yet? If this doesn’t sound exciting to you, the game probably won’t seem exciting either.
Essentially, this is puzzle solving game. You have to get trains to their stops and out of the map as quickly as you can. How you do this is complicated by a 3D map, the fact that there are often several trains running at the same time, and those trains will often need to use the same tracks as ones that are already running.

CaseGears Acrylic X-Plug Modular 450 Watt Power Supply
LAN Addict :: Monday, March 20, 2006

At first glance the CaseGears X-Plug looks pretty cool. Most people have never seen inside of a power supply before so for those, this is a first glimpse into unknown territory. Wires, capacitors, and heatsinks are generally all you see. Two blue LED fans light the UV reactive acrylic that the casing is made of.
The Official Xbox Response To PS3 Announcement
Xbox-Scene :: Sunday, March 19, 2006
Since Sony made their PS3 announcement yesterday, lots of people are wondering about the official Xbox response is. Well here you go: “This announcement certainly doesn’t change any of our plans. We’ve blasted out of the gate with the greatest launch in the history of video games and we’re keeping our eyes squarely fixed on today and on the Xbox 360 road ahead, including continuous new content and programming through our premier Xbox Live online gaming service, the delivery of 80 high definition games and shipping between 4.5 and 5.5 million consoles by June.”
This may come as a shock to folks, but Sony tends to not share their launch plans with us in advance. ;) We’re continuing to stay focused on Xbox 360.
Why We Play Games
Laptop Gamers :: Sunday, March 19, 2006
There exists some ephemeral quality that separates gamers from the rest of humanity, some thing that makes us, us and them, not us. I’ve never been able to quite put my finger on it, but it is inescapably there. Today, in hopes of moving closer to that essential quality of gamerosity, we examine part of what makes us tick. In particular, we take a look at what draws different types of gamers to the hobby. Every gamer plays for different reasons, but there are common threads that tie the experience together.
Lik-Sang: Datel’s Memory Transfer Kit Hands-on and Related Developments
Xbox-Scene :: Sunday, March 19, 2006
* Preliminary Scene Developments: 360MemoryAdaptor We have witnessed some efforts here and there from people like William Gonzalez, who have been assembling PCBs. William actually shared a couple of his prototypes with us in the week prior to Datel’s announcement of the Transfer Kit, and for the low-price of US$ 5, they do their job quite neatly. Of course, there is no casing on them and that might represent a problem for many of you out there, both cosmetically and because of the risk to damage the pins in which you slot your Xbox 360 Memory Card (since the pins are completely naked and not protected by any kind of plastic connector).
