Nintendo Wii First Look
Design Technica :: Sunday, November 12, 2006
“A few weeks ago Nintendo invited press to a private event held at their Rockefeller Plaza store in NYC. We got to spend a couple hours checking out new DS, GameCube, and Wii titles all without interruption. After 2 hours though, the Wii left much to be desired. ”
Guildwars – Nightfall (PC) review
Driver Heaven :: Sunday, November 12, 2006
“Unlike other MMORPGs the past Guild Wars titles (Prophecies and Factions) featured a solid story which took the player through several quests and missions (the games name for longer and more scripted quests). This approach made questing in Guild Wars a more challenging and involved activity as opposed to what can often be considered a grind in other online RPGs.”
Okami (PS2) review
Driver Heaven :: Tuesday, November 07, 2006
“Let’s face the facts; the PlayStation 2 will be virtually dead this November when the superior PS3 makes its worldwide debut, so one could easily assume that the rest of the PS2’s future is rather bleak. Not all developers have thrown in the towel yet, though, as we can see with the release of an innovative game known only as Okami. Based on an old Japanese legend, gamers take control of a white wolf that can utilize divine powers in order to save the land from the terror incurred by a multi-headed dragon.”
Lumines Live![]()
Think Gaming :: Tuesday, November 07, 2006
“For those that have never played Lumines on the PSP, it is an addictive puzzle game infused with great music and effects that create an entrancing experience. I was a huge fan of the PSP version, it was actually the reason I bought the system at launch. So I was extremely excited when Lumines was announced for the 360. But most of that excitement faded when I discovered how this game was being presented and released.”
Valve talks about Multi-Core CPU Processing in Source
Tweak Town :: Tuesday, November 07, 2006
There has been plenty of talk in the industry of late debating whether or not we really need Dual Core let alone four CPU cores. In our Intel QX6700 processor article, we concluded that it was probably worth waiting until investing big bucks in Intel’s latest processor, as the average user will not see much of a gain in performance by moving to four cores. Right now, CPU technology is ahead of software and the industry needs to move quickly to catch up to the hardware – they are doing it but it is taking some time. Valve is one company who understands this and is quickly working to add Multi-Core processing into their Source gaming engine and all of their very successful gaming titles.”

Microsoft Flight Simulator X
Bytesector :: Tuesday, November 07, 2006
“The constant quest for realism in videogames inevitably brings an individual into the realm of simulators. They are the epitome of simulated reality; wildly successful and highly addictive titles like The Sims have made our lives less mundane. However, the persistence of the flight simulator genre has cleared the way, blazing a trail for all variations of simulators. Flight Simulator X is Microsoft’s most recent addition to nearly 25 years of flight simulators, and it promises to be a culmination of realism for virtual pilots everywhere.”
F.E.A.R. Extraction Point Review
Game Pyre :: Tuesday, November 07, 2006
I’m of two minds as to Extraction point. If you’re expecting a whole new game F.E.A.R. Extraction Point is not it. At first viewing, the game doesn’t add enough to the original to warrant the extra $30 cost. If you’re a fan of F.E.A.R, the game is worth the cost because everything that you liked about the original game is here. The expansion pack is a lot of fun, especially if you enjoyed the original game, and people who enjoyed F.E.A.R. should enjoy the expansion pack as well. There’s almost no replay ability, as the single-player game is linear. Sure there are secret areas, but they are few and far between. The multi-player game has already been released in the form of F.E.A.R. Combat.

eDimensional G-Pad Pro Gyroscopic Gamepad Review
Virtual-Hideout :: Monday, November 06, 2006
“The G-Pad Pro is a slick little controller with its VRMS features. The VRMS functioned well for me with the flight simulator and did OK in the racing game, but with the FPS games it was really lacking. Now, keep in mind this is with VRMS enabled. While using it as a regular controller, it functioned like any other gamepad….”
Enchanted Arms for Xbox 360 Review
Techgage :: Monday, November 06, 2006
It’s not very often we are treated to an RPG on the Xbox, but Ubisoft has come along and brought a popular Japanese hit to our shores. You are the enchanter Atsuma, who unwillingly has an arm filled with magical powers. Of course, it only makes sense that it’s his destiny to save the world.
Dark Messiah Tweak Guide
tweakGuides :: Monday, November 06, 2006
The Dark Messiah of Might & Magic Tweak Guide is here to help people resolve their issues with this game and to get it to a playable state as quickly as possible. There are several differences between the way the Source engine works in Dark Messiah and other Source games, so I’ve retested all the commands originally found in my Half Life 2 Tweak Guide, added several important new ones unique to Dark Messiah, refined descriptions to be clearer, and grouped together at least a dozen commands which can help reduce stutter. Also included are a range of specific troubleshooting tips for known bugs, and of course details of all the in-game settings and what they actually do in terms of performance and visual quality.
