LCD Display Buying Guide Part 2 – Response times
DV Hardware :: Wednesday, October 04, 2006
“If Contrast Ratios and Nit levels haven’t confused you enough, then let’s bring more terms into the discussion! In this 2nd part of “Choosing An LCD Monitor”, we’re going to take a look at response times, and how there are two very important and yet different response time specifications.”

Three great ways to get Sam & Max: Season 1
Telltale Games :: Wednesday, October 04, 2006
Download individual episodes, buy the whole season, or subscribe to GameTap

Company of Heroes
Gaming Illustrated :: Tuesday, October 03, 2006
Company of Heroes has quickly become the game of choice here at Gaming Illustrated. We’re fighting each other (Axis vs Allies) on the LAN constantly, playing it online, and some of us have jeopardized our marriages to play long into the night to “just finish the next mission” because it’s so addicting.

Gaming: The Divine Medium
Primo Technology :: Monday, October 02, 2006
You might not agree with me when I say gaming is the most entertaining medium (although if you’re reading this, I think you might). What you can’t deny, however, is that it’s certainly the most ethereal.

Now, I’m not talking about the forthcoming onslaught of games with a strong Christian message, like the strategy title Left Behind: Eternal Forces, where players square off against the forces of Hell (like we haven’t seen that one before).

What I mean is this: Gaming is the only medium that can be considered “divine” because it is an exact mirror of life itself.

Saints Row Xbox 360 Review
Think Gaming :: Monday, October 02, 2006
“If you are reading this review then I’m guessing you have heard of Grand Theft Auto. Well the newly released Saints Row follows the same principles as GTA, drive fast cars and kill people! Besides those 2 things there are a ton of missions and activities to do in Stilwater as part of the Third Street Saints. Could this game be better the GTA? We will have to see.”

Bomberman (X360)
Driver Heaven :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
Originally, Bomberman was a cute little character that looked harmless at first, but as soon as he started dropping bombs his true power was revealed. On the Xbox 360, Bomberman is no longer a tiny guy running around with bombs, but instead you play as some sort of enslaved cyborg. The storyline is very vague, but basically your goal is to make it through 99 stages in succession in order to “make it to the top.” The story doesn’t really play into the game at all though because you never complete objectives. Instead, your goal is to conquer the grid battlefield before your enemies get the best of you.

NASCAR 07 Review
Gaming Illustrated :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
The latest version of the NASCAR series from EA Sports has arrived in NASCAR 07. In this year’s edition you can become the NASCAR champion through using skill and instinct during the most intense race situations. Every driver and race takes on the same characteristics of real-life NASCAR, from aggressive driving styles to the most reckless rookie drivers.

Turtle Beach Earforce X2 Headphones Review
Boost Mobile Gaming :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
The term ‘hard core gamer’ is synonymous with things like ordering pizza, dilated eyeballs, and late night gaming sessions. For those gamers that live with their parents, or in a dorm room with a roommate, or even got married somehow along the way (and are amongst the 3% of gamers to actually have kissed a person of the opposite sex), late night gaming sessions can be a nuisance to those you cohabitate with. Tragically, gamers are forced to make a decision – either turn off the sound, or annoy everyone and keep the sound on (is there really a decision to be made here folks? OF COURSE we keep the sound on). Fortunately enough, Turtle Beach has released a product specifically designed for Xbox and Xbox 360 users with the Ear Force Wireless Xbox Headphones that solve this age-old problem.

Devil May Cry 4 PS3 Screenshots
Think Gaming :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
“We have got 10 screenshots from Devil May Cry 4 for PS3. I actually have to say I am excited about the game, we will have to see how it plays when it comes out, but the screenshots so far look awesome!”

Saitek Gaming Mouse Review
Overclockers Club :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
“Saitek is a well-known gaming peripheral company and I myself have reviewed a number of their products very favorably in the past. To date, I have dealt with the upper echelon in looking at the brilliant Flight Control Center and bombproof Eclipse keyboard. This time I will be taking a look at an affordable gaming mouse that can be found at prices ranging from 18 to 30 dollars.”

Company of Heroes videocard performance
Techspot :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
The new real-time strategy game set in WWII, Company of Heroes, delivers full cinematic detail, and in doing so, it requires quite a lot of processing power. With all the visual enhancements enabled, Company of Heroes looks stunning, easily making one of the best looking RTS games of all time. However, before purchasing this game or even considering a hardware upgrade, it will be important to know first if your computer will run it, and second how good it will actually look while at it. There is indeed a massive difference between low and high quality settings in CoH, suggesting older systems will still be able to run this title. But then again, having visual settings set at their maximum really does this game justice.

Company of Heroes Review
Gamepyre :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
I’m a big fan of the Real Time Strategy genre, with games like Command and Conquer Generals and Act of War two of my favorite games of all time. Does Company of Heroes fit the bill as a RTS game? I enjoyed the game to no end as the AI surprised me time and time again by pinning my troops or attacking from an undefended area of my base. The AI can prove to be a daunting enemy and one that will surprise and anger you from time to time. It can be a bit tedious and frustrating in the campaign on many levels as well as playing in the skirmish mode, when the AI just seems to overwhelm you.

Tokyo Game Show 2006 Wrap-up
Digital Trends :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
“Still, although the convention drew a record attendance of 192, 411 enthusiasts and industry insiders eager to lay hands on the machines (May’s Electronic Entertainment Expo hosted 60,000 by comparison), most were strangely nonplussed.”

Deep Ball Defender PC Game Review
DragonSteel Mods :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
” The title of this game just makes me grin every time I play it or write it out, I’m sure you understand why, just think about it… Anyway, besides that, this is one great little game, I actually started playing this game and the next thing I knew an hour had gone by. Deep Ball Defender is a combination of classics like Arknoid and Breakout, but it just seems more addictive, I found myself continuing to play just to see what was on the next screen. So, obviously, today for review I have Deep Ball Defender, courtesy of our friends at VGSmart and BD Studio Games. SO read on if you want to learn about a great little game that you can easily loose quite a bit of time playing…. ”

N3: 99 Nights (Xbox 360)
Driver Heaven :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
Button mashing games have been around for quite some time, but recently developers have tried to add various features to prevent such games from becoming monotonous in an instant. On the Xbox 360, Q Entertainment and Phantagram teamed up to release a title known as N3: Ninety-Nine Nights, which is essentially a button masher with a Japanese theme. Including special aspects such as a character leveling system, several distinct campaigns, and an unprecedented number of enemies all help N3 distinguish itself from the rest of the crowd, but it’s not without its fair share of flaws.

Mario Hoops 3 on 3 Review
Boost Mobile Gaming :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
A 200-point shot, a giant gorilla playing defense and coins everywhere – this is not your average basketball game. Mario Hoops 3 on 3 is Nintendo’s latest assault on the sports genre. Play and battle your way through the Mushroom Kingdom’s underground basketball circuit as you control your favorite Nintendo characters in this new game by Square Enix.

RedOctane Announces Guitar Hero II For Xbox 360
Think Gaming :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
“Guitar Hero II is going to be rocking a new stage! RedOctane announced today that the Guitar Hero crew will bring their award-winning tour to the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. This is amazing news!! Check out the picture of the new Xbox 360 guitar…looks AWESOME!!!”

Logitech G11 Review
Techgage :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
Hardcore gamer? Then you probably are on the lookout for any product that will help you tweak your skill further, and maybe gain an advantage over the competition. If the G15 proves too expensive, or you don’t like the LED screen, this one may be up your alley.
