Since the device can be operated with one hand, it doesn’t feel as awkward as Nintendo’s Wii Zapper. You no longer have to “shoot from the hip” as if you were holding a Tommy Gun, or stare down the barrel as if shooting a rifle. Your secondary hand is free to use the Nunchuck for movement, so you can feel more like the “bad cop” you know you are. It is also very easy to detach the Nunchuck, unlike the Zapper which pretty much requires you to disassemble the entire thing.
Nyko’s PerfectShot isn’t “perfect”, but it does offer several advantages over the Wii Zapper in several areas. The device is alot better designed for usability, so it is very easy to dock and undock your controllers and accessories. In addition, this pistol grip is alot cheaper than the Zapper, although the Zapper comes with “Link’s Crossbow Training”. Right now, there are only a few games that make great use of this grip (Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, RE: Umbrella Chronicles, and Ghost Squad), but those games are definately more fun to play with the grip.
This device is so inexpensive that there’s really no reason NOT to have it if you play any of those games. It will only become more worthwhile as more gunplay games debut on the Wii.
