8TB NAS: Upgrading a Synology Diskstation
Saturday, February 12, 2011
We’ve written about expanding storage on your NAS box, and they usually come with some nasty caveats. The best way to expand your storage while maintaining your box’s full usefulness is to upgrade the main volume. In this guide we not only show you how to choose the right disk and their physical installation, but what to expect during the process and how to avoid headaches before and after the migration.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 Q&A With Wes Phillips
Friday, February 11, 2011
We got a chance to speak with Capcom’s Wes Phillips about the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Wes was on his way to the airport, but managed to squeeze us in to answer our questions about the new game. It’s been over 10 years since the last Marvel vs. Capcom game. Why so long?

There’s so many properties involved and so many different license-holders. Half of the problem was wrangling all of those things together and half of an ending-game renaissance to get the sting back on track. It took a bit of time to get everything together, but we finally did it, and Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is an awesome game.

SOCOM 4 Preview!
Thursday, January 27, 2011
On Wednesday, January 26th, Sony and Zipper Interactive invited the OCmodshop crew to their offices in Redmond, Washington to take a look at the new SOCOM 4 and let us ask questions. Not only did we get a full tour of the game, but they had a lobby all decked out with multiple stations for us to play the single and multiplayer campaigns. They even showed off some of the new technology features, particularly 3d television support and Playstation Move support and a new gun peripheral.

Travis Steiner, lead designer of SOCOM 4 kicked off the event, who gave a quick overview and then showed a short demo of the single-player campaign and multiplayer game.

iPhone 4: Verizon vs. AT&T vs. Jailbreak
Thursday, January 13, 2011
When AT&T holds a monopoly, they like to play hardball, which is what leads to the afforementioned cyclical bitch-slappings. In addition to a notorious reputation of dropped calls, AT&T began new billing practices that eliminated unlimited data bandwidth, and imposes additional charges for data tethering.

AT&T has once again held customers hostage. If you wanted the benefits of the iPhone, then you had to be on AT&T. This tyrannical reign is now over, as Verizon will begin offering iPhone 4 on February 10th (existing Verizon customers can preorder on February 3rd).

Verizon will begin offering the iPhone 4, and will offer features that forces AT&T to take notice. Is it better to have an iPhone on AT&T’s network, Verizon’s network, or just jailbreak the damn thing? Below are some of the new features you can expect with a Verizon-branded iPhone to help you decide.

Dead Rising 2 Walkthrough
Thursday, January 13, 2011
I believe this game demonstrates the theory that Eastern game developers have already lost to the West.

What is this new East vs West mentality? Think back in the cartridge days to games like Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter, Nintendo, Sony, etc. All of this stuff came from Japan and it was all we had to play. While over in the West he had ET and Custer’s Revenge.

Then a game called GTA3 came out. Western games are mostly based on – take it as you will – shooting. Sure, before GTA3 we had all sorts of shooting games like Doom and whatever, but GTA3 changed everything. You were free to have fun in the game, and that was the key, freedom and fun.
