The mousepad definately works as advertised in the performance department. It is thin and lightweight, but doesn’t like to be rolled up. The reusable adhesive seems to work well, but be forewarned that you should clean the surface with alcohol pads to extend its life. If you don’t go to a lot of LAN parties and don’t intend on taking the Sphex with you then it will be a semi-permanent addition to your desk.
Regardless of the cleaning issue, I dare you to find another high-performance mousepad for under $20. It is so thin that it is more like a textured area of your desk rather than a mousepad, which is something some gamers may prefer. Then again, some users are accustomed to a little cushioning, so try it out and see how you like it. It is rather inexpensive, so you can show up to your next LAN with a genuine Razer mousepad without the deep pockets.
