Space Ace Blu-Ray Review

Even if you are able to memorize the right sequence, once you turn the game off, you must start over at the beginning. It is irritating that there are no re-start codes or save features.

The PS3 is no help either. Although the PS3 boasts super speed and graphics, it is no savior for Space Ace. Some of the action sequences are so short that once the player completes them there is a jarring halt to the story line while the system loads the next scene. The all-too-frequent interruptions are really a problem for those trying to get in and enjoy the story.

There are a few additions that are worthwhile in this edition of Space Ace. The disc boasts some cool special features, including:

  • Digitally remastered in High Definition
  • Full HD 1080p Video and Extras
  • Listen in dramatic 5.1 surround sound that immerses you in the action
  • Authentic scene order
  • Watch Feature
  • Frame by frame digital restoration
  • Full length commentary from the creators!
  • New interviews with creators: Don Bluth, Gary Goldman and Rick Dyer

If Space Ace has really been a part of your past, then the re-release on Blu Ray will be a must-have. Unfortunately, the gameplay mechanics and choppy story are what holds this interactive game back from grabbing a new, younger audience.
