I was pleasantly surprised here, and considering the very modest voltage increase and the fact I still hadn’t loosened the timings to their rated specs of 3-4-4-8, I thought this kit would fly past 300FSB (DDR600). Alas, loosening the timings to their rated speed only garnered me a slight increase to 292 FSB (DDR584)… ”

We have a new review up on a couple heatsinks trying to bust into the heatpipe cooler scene… it seems as though they won’t be very successful with this attempt, though. Here is a snip from the review: “I could come up with only 3 reasons why nickel is used on the bottom of heatpipe heatsinks: Nickel bonds very well and having a nickel bottom would protect the surface, prevent oxidation, and diffuse the heat. Since nickel retains heat longer, the heat will spread over a larger area which spreads it evenly across the heatpipes so you don’t have just one or two doing all the work. I don’t know if this is actually the case, but it makes sense to me (unfortunately, so does beer flavored ice cream).”

The DualHead2Go works off of the analog video output from an approved list of notebooks at resolutions of either 2048×768 (60, 75, 85 Hz) or 2560×1024 (60Hz). The device takes the novel approach of splitting that double-width video signal in half, with one portion of the screen going to monitor A, and the second portion going to monitor B. The end result is that two monitors will act as a single screen, yet with just one monitor cable plugged into the host computer.”

Everything you need to know before buying a digital camera: what is megapixel, how many photos you can store in a memory card and what the most common terms mean.

Here is a snippet: “Megapixel is a unit that measures the resolution in optical devices (i.e., the number of dots the image will have), especially in digital cameras. The value in megapixels is found by multiplying the image’s width by its height. For example, an image with resolution of 1280×1024 has resolution of 1,310,720 pixels or 1.3 megapixel. On the chart below we present the most common resolutions. As you can see, there are some close estimates: cameras with 1.9 megapixel are sold as having 2 megapixels.”
