Okay, so I load the disc in the drive. It comes up with a nice little menu giving me the options of reading entire drives, loading data from my camera, or for me to manually add the files. Okay, manually adding the files is something I can do with any freaking disc. I opted for the drive scan, and clicked the button. The disc whirred through my drive and selected every single picture I had stored there. I didn’t realize that I had that many, but the software found them.
There is no option to view the pictures that the software found, all you can do is choose to burn or not to burn. So I burned the damned thing. Chances are I’ll just leave the pictures on my computer and probably run this disc through a shredder when I’m done. So I burned it and waited to see the results of this innovative picture management backup system.
When the burn process was complete the disc ejected immediately, and I pushed it back in to see what kind of nice menu would pop up, if any. I got a little prompt with the option of exploring the disc, or in a few seconds explorer would open it for me.
That’s it? No menu full of options? No way to browse through the pictures with indexes and all the bells and whistles that come with so many photo sharing softwares? Hell, even the Kodak photo discs have better presentation than this. Basically, all it did was back up all the pictures on my drive, even the images stored in my World of Warcraft directory, and burned them to a very basic Windows Explorer structure. I’m really not impressed.
In the end, the software succeeded in finding every picture in my computer and buring them to a disc. Even pictures that were part of software directories. The search option was good, but who needs something like that when most people store all their pictures in a single folder or group of folders anyway? And if you do that you might as well use the manual option. But what is the point of using the manual option if the pictures are just going to be as browseable as they would be if you had just burned them to a data disc? Frankly, this could have been a better software and could have yeilded better results. Do yourself a favor, take that $9.99 and go buy a pack of blank DVD-Rs and just burn the damned pictures straight to a disc.

Thank you English Nazi. Clinton, I've never been one to only point out the good side of things and keep the bad side under wraps. If something isn't all that great, I am going to tell about it. I immensely enjoy most everything Verbatim has to offer, but in reality I am simply the voice of the consumer public, and I would never steer my readers toward something I don't like just because it has a big name on the label.
i'm getting really tired of reading this guys reviews. he cant even spell review. and he is always saying bad things about the products.
Clinton: At least Don knows how to use apostrophes and punctuation.
