The inside of your case can either be an eyesore or something that looks like a professionally done job. If you have a window or just hate having the inside of your case in shambles this article should show you how to tidy it up and make it look nice. There are many different ways and many different things you can use to do what I am about do. I am just giving you an idea of what to do and how to do it.
Before we begin here is a before picture of what the inside of my computer looked like, its not a pretty sight.
The first thing that I would suggest doing is removing all the IDE cables, Molex connectors, and anything else that has a wire or cord of some sort. After you have removed everything the best thing to do would be to round your IDE, FDD, and SCSI cables. There are many different techniques you can use to round IDE cables, however I don’t feel there is a need to cut them, which possibly could damage them. Instead I am just going to be folding them into split loom. If you have professionally rounded cables you can skip this part.
Take your IDE and FDD cables that you will be using and lay them out.
Now take the first one you are going to do and take the longer side and fold it into itself so that it is small enough to fit in the split loom that you are going to use.
Now take your split loom and slide the IDE cable into it so that most of the IDE cable is covered.
Now do the same thing with the other half of the IDE cable and you should have a finished round IDE cable that will probably look something like this.
After you have finished rounding your IDE, FDD, SCSI, etc… cables we can move on to the rest of the case.
Now that you have your IDE cables rounded you can now move onto the power supply wires. I started by putting split loom over the motherboard power cable. Slide the cable into the split loom and plug the connector into the motherboard.
I also used 2 cable ties and 2 cable tie mounts. I put the mounts on the bottom of my power supply and used the cable ties to secure the motherboard power cord to the bottom of it, this will keep it in one place and away from the heatsink.
As you can see in this picture I have plugged my IDE and FDD cables back in. Also notice that the motherboard power cable coming from the power supply is now secured to the bottom of it with the cable ties, and cable tie mounts.
I also chose to put split loom on the motherboard jumper wires, and PC speaker wires. This will take the clutter of many wires into 1 or 2 split loom sections.
Now you will want to plug in all the Molex connectors into all of the devices you will be using and cover them with split loom. You should also cover any other wires you may have in your case, like fan wires, CD audio cables or whatever else might be in your case with split loom.
As you can see from the picture above we are getting close to having it looking like a neat tidy case, however you will most likely have Molex connector wires from your PSU that you will not use and will not want have people see. This problem is easily solved. All you need to do is take all the connections you are not going to be using and route them through the side of the case and place them behind the motherboard in-between the side of the case and the motherboard tray.
You should now have a case with a clean and tidy inside, you can now display the inside of your case with pride rather than being embarrassed by the site of dirtiness which was your case before. Here is a before shot and after shot of my computer after taking about 20 minutes to clean it up.

You don’t have to use split loom you can use whatever you like just use what you think would look best for your case.
