There are not many notebooks that are directly comparable to the M6, which is one reason it is interesting. It is a bit heavier than most 12″ models (the starting weight is 4.1 lbs) and on the surface it seems like a model that would be more comfortable with a 14″ display, though it is on the light side for the typical 14″ unit. The starting price is higher than expected, most likely as a result of a few bonuses, like the smaller size and a top-of-the-line DVD writer. The closest competitor is Lenovo’s V100, but some other’s, like Dell’s M1210, are about the same size, but have a betterfeature set.

In the T9 Samsung has a solid product that has finally managed to get some attention as a great iPod alternative, but the really exciting product from them this season is what we will be looking at today: the K5. The K5 has a few things going for it, but the foremost is an integrated set of speakers. That’s right, built-in speakers in a Nano-sized player. None of your friend’s are going to care about the 1.8″ OLED display, FM tuner, or the 4GB capacity when you take out the K5, put in on your desk, and flip those speakers open.

This isn’t just your simple everyday cordless phone though, because not only does it support your typical landline connection, but it’s also compatible with Skype. If you’re not familiar with Skype, it’s simply a Voice Over IP (VoIP) service that allows you to talk to other Skype users on the computer for free. The catch is that you both need to be at your computer in order to talk, using a microphone and speaker/headphone combination or a headset of some sort. While it’s great that you can make free PC-to-PC “calls” in this fashion, the obvious downside is that you’re tethered to your computer for the duration of the conversation. With the CIT300 cordless phone however, this is not the case since you can use it to access your Skype contacts and converse with them as if you were still seated at your computer. The Dacos Technologies Rapsody 2.5″ Multimedia Player is an excellent fit for my digital multimedia device needs, and I really do like it. It is very easy to transfer media via USB or OTG, and the size and simplicity make it extremely portable. They did a good job incorporating support for different file types, but could have made it a little more robust.

Someone listened and unfortunately for Microsoft (who came up with the idea) it was Apple. And had it been done right, it likely could have done for both Microsoft and IBM what the iPod did for Apple. But Microsoft under-funded their effort and IBM didn’t even try in the first place. ”

Over the years i’ve came to the conclusion, and this is of course my opinion on the matter. That whenever you look for a replacement mousemat / pad, some things come into play. First there’s the brand issue. It’s like purchasing a car, some like Volkswagen, but Seat has the same parts as a Volkswagen but is much cheaper. Second there’s the type of surface you prefer and what size. Lastly it’s how fancy you want your mousemat to look and how much your willing to pay for it. If your looking for a high quality, high end mousemat and you have a computer system you spend a fortune on and doesn’t want a cheap looking mousemat on your desk than your looking at mousemats / pads up to 50 dollars. Both the XTracPads Pro and Pro HS glide as smooth as you would expect from a mousemat, their not the crappy cloth mats from 10 years ago. It’s probably a production error that my surface came loose on the HS but overall both mousemats are quite alright.”

Today I have a small review for you, of a very small keyboard. The Super Slim Keyboard from Brando WorkShop is essentially a full-sized keyboard shrunk down to tiny proportions. This keyboard is the perfect thing for travelers, and others that want access to a full keyboard but just don’t want to carry around a full-sized one. Many laptop users complain about heat issues. This is expected as there are so many components crammed into a tiny space. Cooler Master’s new NotePal P1 tries to alleviate that issue, and succeeds. Not only does it cool my laptop down, it raises it slightly when used on a desk. This allows me to type in a more ergonomically sound fashion and improves my posture. Also, unlike some other notebook coolers that my friends own, you don’t have to connect it to an external power source; it runs off your laptop’s USB and yet, you don’t lose a port because the NotePal P1 actually has two USB ports: one to power itself and one for your use.

Microsoft realized that its Intellimouse Explorer despite being a general use mouse had a strong following amongst gamers. The company capitalized on this with the release of the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 where they changed the color to black (a must for gamers), improved a few of the features, and took the mouse back to the old school design of the previous Intellimouse models. With this mouse Microsoft was trying to get the attention of gamers, maybe not rocking their world, but letting them know that Microsoft had a product built for them. The next mouse ended up being the Habu. This is notable because Microsoft teamed up with Razer to make the mouse. It’s all little strange, but if you combine Razer’s design with Microsoft’s size, it seems like you would have a good chance at a successful product. If nothing else this mouse is an exercise in teamwork and a look at what happens when two very different parties join forces.
