Lian Li V1000 Case Accessories Review

Lian Li cases are extremely popular these days, and it’s easy to see why. Many high-end computer systems call Lian Li their home because of the innovative designs, working space, light weight, and sheer workmanship of their cases.

There are many optional add-ons for Lian Li cases, and CoolerGuys.com was kind enough to send over some accessories so we can play a little Lian Li dressup!

V-2000 Side Panel
Some of Lian Li’s more popular cases are the PC-V1000 and PC-V2000, but many people won’t risk cutting a window themselves. For one, the aluminum is very thick and would eat Dremel wheels for breakfast; and why cut a window when you can buy a professionally cut pre-fabbed window direct from Lian Li themselves?

Lian Li’s side panel with window for the PC-V2000 has a fairly large window that can allows its owner to peer into the soul of their computer system. The V2000 case is divided into two segments: a top portion containing the motherboard and externally-accessible components. The bottom segment contains internal-only components like the power supply and hard drives. This side window lets you see into the top segment of your case, hiding the bottom segment.

Installation: extra mounting features… Easy to Install on your Lian Li PC-V2000 Case. No Mods required.

  • Transparent side window panel
  • Anodized Silver or Black brushed
  • Crenulated edge panel

The construction of the side panel is very well executed with cross-braces around the window to keep it sturdy and secure the panel to the chassis. The window cutout has the same “saw-cut ” edge as the outer edge of the panel.

For those without a window in their flagship case, this side panel is the ultimate addition, and takes the least amount of effort. This provides some of the most impressive results with the least amount of work: just take off your old panel and install this new one. As an added bonus, you now have an extra Lian Li panel to perform some Dremel experiments.

Lian Li’s cases come with one aluminum bezel for CD or DVD drives, but Lian also sell additional bezels for those of us whose love cannot be contained by a single drive alone. These bezels are available in black or standard brushed aluminum.

Built for Lian Li cases

  • Model #: C-01A (natural aluminum finish)
  • Designed to suit most of the DVD/CD/CDW drivers on the market
  • Dress up the front panel in the Aluminum look.
  • Installation hardware included.

The install on these front bezels are fairly simple and quick (other than you will have to remove any obstructions toward the bottom 5 ¼ bay). You will have to remove all covers and back the ROMs all the way to the back of the bay for installation. Once you have the bezel in the position it must be secured with the provided hardware.

After you have bezel installed you will want to slide the ROM forward until you can feel the drive’s open button touch the bezel button. At this point we will power on the computer and open the ROM. If the drive is pressed too close to the bezel, the drive tray will open about 2 inches and close. All you have to do is back it up a hair. Once this is done you will tighten down the ROM and you are set with your new Lian Li case bezel for the ROMs.

Secret to the Honeycomb Hideout
Another trait to the PC-V1000 and the V2000 are the circular “honeycomb” ventilation holes that are designed in to the front and rear of the case. Lian has designed a bay cover to replace the solid covers, which matches the front of the case with fabricated honeycomb holes fabricated into the covers that actually blend in to the front of the case and gives it a uniform design.

Simple addition to Your Lian Li case to help it keep cool and add a distinctive flair. Currently only available in Black. Made by Lian Li especially for Lian Li cases. May not fit other cases.

These are very simple to install and give the case a full open look. Installation is the same as the other faceplate bezels, but there is no need for drive adjustment. They just provide a more customized look to your tricked out Lian Li case.

We gotta have lights now that we’ve installed a new window to show off our components. Lights are one of the most inexpensive case mods, but have a high visual impact, especially if you are running an intricate water-cooling setup with UV dye. These are by far the best bang for the buck kits that I have used. Very simple installs and multiple mounting positions for the best look of what you are looking for.

End ends are capped so the cathode tube doesn’t fall out of the protective plexiglass casing, and the inverter comes with Velcro for easy and creative mounting nearly anywhere in your case. Power is supplied by a standard 4-pin molex connector and the power leads are of adequate length for even a huge case like the Lian Li V-2000

The install on the CCFL’s is quite easy, other than the pci switch that Is mounted to in the rear open pci bracket slot. Personally I remove the swithch from the bracket and put it in the lowerportion of the case. Where this does give you the option to keep the slots open for other more important hardware. Mounting on the tubes themselves is simple and easy. They come with strips of Velcro to.

And I did add a little bit of color to the mix with another Logisys 12 and 4 inch kit, only in cold blue, which does add the “hey look at me” effect to the mix.

For me these all depend on the individual that is using them, most of the people may like and some may not. Lights are however a way to accent you case and you can express yourself how ever you desire, with colors and sizes you have multiple choices.

These simple add-ons sum up to a very impressive case project, are very cost effective, and very simple to implement. You can’t show up at a LAN party with an impressive $250 Lian Li case without tricking it out! That’s like a Ford Escort or Dodge Neon without the rear spoiler, pinstripes, or “Calvin pissing on something” decal. We are very grateful of CoolerGuys, and would like to send special thanks to those guys for letting this review happen.
