Quick Articles FTW!

I tend to procrastinate…  and I’ve accumulated quite a bit of hardware that has yet to be reviewed.

One of the reasons these things pile up is because of all the work it takes to actually publish a review.  It may take you, the reader, about 2 minutes (or less) to skim through the article, but I have already spent many hours photographing, researching, and writing the article for you.

When I sit down to write, I usually do the entire thing in one sitting… which is a daunting task when I know it will be several pages.  It’s easy to see the total amount of work, and figure it’s just not worth doing.

One of my problems is that I want to do a thorough job on every product.  Being thorough takes time.  Sometimes small products just don’t need that much time into them.

Even when I try to limit myself to a few paragraphs, I end up writing several pages.  So now I have a new philosophy.  It’s hard, but I’m going to try and crank out more shorter articles when they don’t warrant being thorough.

As Trisha advised me: Most people just want to know if a product is good or not, and may not end up reading a huge review.

Point taken.  I will still write complete and thorough reviews, but I have to analyze if a particular product is worth so much effort.

I’ve already queued up several articles, and hope to have several days’ worth in advance.  Yay!
