Assassin’s Creed III Walkthrough

In addition to the more in depth side-quests that we have spoken about so far, there are a few generic, not so interesting side-quests that we also need to complete in order to earn our 100% synchronisation. These feature assassination contracts in which we need to track down and eliminate marked targets, courier missions to drop off letters at specified loacations and delivery side-quests that ask you to acquire a series of items from around the game world and return them to the quest giver.

These are all relatively straightforward and can be picked up as soon or as late as you feel like completing them. Additionally for the delivery and courier segments, you can pick them up as soon as you see them and then do them whenever you feel like it, they don’t have to be completed immediately.

Assassination Contracts

To begin these missions, you will need to look for an icon on the map that looks like a set of crosshairs. Approach the men with these symbols above their heads and interact with them. Each contract giver will add four targets to your map that you will need to take down. These targets will be walking alone, by themselves and will put up little to no resistance to your hidden blade. Easy!

Here is where you will find the starting points for the assassination contract missions:

• Frontier’s Contracts – Fast travel to the harbormaster in Monmouth. See the building to the northeast on the shoreline? Look on the opposite side of this from the water to find the quest giver.
• Boston’s Contracts – You’ll find the Assassination contract just to the south-west of the southernmost harbourmaster in Boston’s North district.
• New York’s Contracts – You will find this guy near the lower harbormaster in South New York.

Courier Missions

To undertake these missions, look for the icons that look like envelopes on the map. cruise over and talk to the men with the envelopes above their heads.After picking up the quest, you will be tasked with delivering four letters to citizens in the surrounding area.

There are quest givers in the four following locations:

• Frontier (Lexington) Letters
• North Boston Letters
• Central Boston Letters
• East New York Letters

Delivery Missions

Whilst the previous two generic side-missions were fairly benign, this one is brutal. Not only do some of the contacts sit in remote locations, meaning that they may not show up on the map and forcing you to explore the areas to find them, they also task you with acquiring items that can be quite difficult to come by if you do not know where to look.

Note that some of these items will not appear in the game until quite late in the story and that aditionally, some will require doing specific side-missions most notably – the Homestead side-missions (walkthroughs can be found here: [HMQSTS]) before making an appearance.

Below I have listed the locations of the various quest markers, the items they require and locations on where to find each of the specified items.

You can find the Delivery mission start points in the following locations:

Frontier:

1. Lexington – You’ll find this one in the main part of Lexington south of the general store.

• Items needed – Bear Pelt(x5), Wolf Pelt(x5), Beaver Teeth(x5), Bobcat Pelt(x5), Cougar Pelt(x3).
• Locations – All of these Items can be obtained through hunting.

2. Troy’s Wood – Outside a house in the very north-western corner of the hunting region.

• Items needed – Bear Claws(x3), Bobcat claws(x3), Wolf Fangs(x3), Cougar Fangs(x3), Elk Antlers(x3).
• Locations – All of these Items can be obtained through hunting.

3. Valley Forge – You’ll find this against the far western part of the region next to a house by a water source.

• Items needed – Bear Grease (x1), Deer Marrow(X3), Rabbit’s Foot(x5), Elk Heart(x1), Fox Tail(x1).
• Locations – All of these Items can be obtained through hunting.

New York:

1. East District – In the East New York, directly West of the northernmost harbormaster.

• Items needed – Ale(x3), Cider(x2), Spirits(x2), Tea(x2), Deer Jerky(x2)
• Locations – All of these Items can be made through the crafting menu.

2. North District – Just to the south-east of Fort Division along the waterfront.

• Items needed – Cough Syrup(x1), Eye Drops(x1), Pomade(X1), All-Purpose Remedy(x1), Stomach remedy(x1).
• Locations – Most of these items can be crafted by Dr White at the Homestead. As such, you will need to complete Lyle White’s Homestead missions (guides here: [HMQSTS]) in order to acquire all of the items.

3. West District – Just to the North of Fort Washington along the waterfront.

• Items needed – Salt(x1), Venison(x5), Hare Meat(x5), Elk Meat(x5), Bread(x2).
• Locations – All of these Items can be obtained either through hunting (animal meats) or via the crafting menu (Bread and salt).

Boston:

1. Boston Central – This guy is located just to the north of the general  store in the northernmost part of the region.

• Items needed – Paper(x3), Hair Accessory(x2), Toy Dolls(x2), Soap(x2), Golden Rings(x1).
• Locations – These items can be obtained by crafting. Yopu should be able to craft all but one of them right away. The tricky one of the bunch is the Toy Dolls. To be able to make them you will need to complete Ellen’s Homestead side-missions (Guides here: [HMQSTS]). Once you have the required items, you can craft the dolls from the crafting menu under miscellaneous.

2. Boston South – Just to the west of the southernmost harbormaster in Boston.

• Items needed – Raccoon Pelt(x5), Deer Pelt(x5), Beaver Pelt(x5), Fox Pelt(x3), Buttons(x2)
• Locations – All of these items bar buttons can be obtained via hunting. Buttons can be crafted.
