Ghost Recon Advanced Warfigter Release Dates
Gamer’s Hell :: Tuesday, March 07, 2006
Ubisoft has released a new trailer from Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, showcasing the upcoming sequel scheduled for March 9th (Xbox 360 and Xbox – US) and March 16th (Xbox – Europe). The game will focus on the deployment of the Soldier of the Future – the ‘warfighter,’ in military parlance, into the chaos of urban warfare. The main character is Captain Scott Mitchell, the commander of the Ghosts and Special Forces allies equipped with the IWS in the quest to save the president of the United States, recover stolen nuclear codes and eliminate a vicious band of renegade soldiers hell-bent on unleashing catastrophe. IWS (Integrated Warfighter System) is a complex combination of cutting-edge technologies that transforms an individual soldier into the ultimate fighting force. IWS combines advanced weapons systems, satellite communication devices and enhanced survivability into one fully integrated combat system. You can also read a Q&A with producer Mathieu Girard on the PC version delay.

TechFEAR :: Sunday, March 05, 2006
Summary: “That’s right. We are giving away a Xbox 360 Premium, new in box and never opened. This kit includes the console, hard drive, wireless controller, headset, Ethernet cable, and HD cable. These are surprisingly still hard to come by. Check back each week for updates; we may sweeten the pot!”
Land of Legends (PC) Review
Strategy Informer :: Sunday, March 05, 2006
Land of Legends, brought to you by Tiny Hero Studios and Shrapnel games, is a fantasy, turn based strategy game. Its cartoony look and feel do have a certain charm, and the game play is deviously simple. Think more Chess than Command and Conquer. No matter which of the three modes you choose to play in, you will essentially be moving pieces around a board, occasionally engaging enemies and taking over cities.

XBOX 360 “Condemned” review
Driver Heaven :: Sunday, March 05, 2006

“Condemned is a first person horror shooter set in an urban city. From the start, we’re introduced to our beloved FBI agent on a seemingly routine assignment. Unfortunately for him, a crafty murderer manages to turn everyone against Thomas so he needs to clear his name. Thomas will travel through the downright ugliest parts of the city as he mercilessly beats down drug addicts and crazed civilians. With only a trusty lab analyst to help him interpret data, you need to overcome the grimiest of situations in order to solve this horrific mystery.”
LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy Dev Diary #1
Gamer’s Hell :: Sunday, March 05, 2006
In April 2005, LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game Force-pushed its way onto store shelves everywhere to prove itself one of gaming’s most pleasant surprises of the year – and one of its biggest hits. Now at over 3.3 million copies sold worldwide (and still going strong), NPD Group’s No. 13 bestseller of 2005 has delighted gamers young and old with its unique mix of tongue-in-cheek humor and interplanetary adventure. Hot off the game’s amazing success, developer Traveller’s Tales and its parent company TT Games have joined forces with LucasArts to release LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy for multiple platforms* this fall. And with several notable improvements to an already stellar formula, there’s a lot more to love about this sequel.
TNT-HD comes to DirecTV
Home Theater Blog :: Sunday, March 05, 2006
The patience of DirecTV subscribers has finally paid off, as big D is adding another HD channel to their lineup, namely TNT-HD. The channel is scheduled to go live today February 17th and is part of DirecTV’s HD Package.
Also, according to Satellite Guys another HD channel might be in the works for DirecTV, specifically National Geographic HD . I’ve caught quite a few programs on the NatGeo channel (standard definition unfortunately) and have enjoyed the majority of them. This is great news for DirecTV HD subscribers.

Guitar Hero – PS2
Hexus :: Sunday, March 05, 2006

Dance mats are for parties when you’ve had a few to drink and don’t mind looking a bit of a pratt. Guitar Hero is for whenever you fancy stepping into the fantasy world of being a rock god. So rather than slipping Led Zeppelin into the CD player and grabbing that tennis racket, boot up Guitar Hero and get as close to playing the songs as you ever will without 2 years intensive guitar lessons.

TOCA Race Driver 3 (PC) Review
Strategy Informer :: Sunday, March 05, 2006
Codemasters have put the emphasis on fun and playability, but haven’t skimped on the more technical aspects if you have a taste for that sort of thing. You begin the game slam bang in the middle of a race, with almost no idea what you’re doing and Sean Connery’s grandpa giving you driving tips, which you’d better listen to, or you’ll end yourself up in a wall. It’s a strange way to begin things, rather back to the futureish, what with materializing in a car and all, but if they were calling it reality then you’d need millions of dollars to create the experience that Toca gives you for less than a hundred.

Shane Kim Interview: Halo 3 , Launch, Stock, Demand
Net4Xbox360 :: Wednesday, March 01, 2006

* Next-gen.biz: Is Halo3 coming out this year?
* Shane Kim: It depends. If it’s the game that everyone is expecting then, yes. For us it’s about making a proper impact on the platform. It has to be something with huge significance, so we won’t be rushed.
* Next-gen.biz: Looking back at the launch, and leaving shortages aside, any regrets?
* Shane Kim: Any game developer will tell you they wish they had more time with the hardware. That’s always the case. If you look at the complexity of this console and you add Live…
With the first generation of Xbox we waited a year before launching Live; this year everything went out together. It would have been better to have more time with the development hardware. But this is not a trivial undertaking. It’s very challenging to create this hardware and a network like this.
* Next-gen.biz: Some have said that the launch lacked a single killer game.
* Shane Kim: I don’t think that’s fair. Everyone is looking for a Halo and a GTA, but we have to realize there are only two of those titles in history, and they weren’t those big legends before they launched.
It is easy to look back and say ‘nothing the size of Halo came out’, but the launch titles were all solid good games and there was some amazing work.
I would put this portfolio up against the original Xbox launch portfolio any day. I don’t see the fact that there wasn’t one game that everyone wanted to buy as a criticism. The strength was in the variety.
