We have just taken a look at the Evercool HPL-815 Low-Profile CPU Cooler. This little cooler claims it can handle CPUs up to the Intel Core i7 920 and after we put it on our test bench – we don’t think it’s a great choice for such a hot chip. It’s not all bad news and it can fit where most other coolers simply can not. Please check out our review for all the details.
Our CPU Cooler test bench features a nice and toasty 140 Watt CPU (Intel i7 920 LGA 1366) which is the same CPU we’ve used for numerous reviews and provides us with a nice and even playing field to compare coolers against each other. The HPL-815 is honestly not a great choice for this CPU and as you saw in the testing it was barely able to keep up with it.
