Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin iPod Dock Review![]()
i4u :: Saturday, January 05, 2008
“Sound is the real appeal of the B&W Zeppelin, and it has sound in droves. I like bass to my music , but not to the point of overpowering the mids and high sounds. The B&W Zeppelin has fantastic bass along with crisp and sharp highs and mid range sounds. Sound output is rich and to achieve this the B&W Zeppelin uses three amplifiers, one for the mid, one for left, one for right and one for bass.”

US Department of Transport announces restrictions for Li-Ion batteries
Digital Photography Review News :: Saturday, January 05, 2008
The US Department of Transportation has announced new safety rules relating to the storage of rechargeable Lithium batteries when flying to, from and within the USA. The new restrictions, effective from January 1st 2008, dictate that loose Lithium cells may not be packed in checked baggage under any circumstances – batteries installed in equipment are unaffected. Carry-on baggage may contain up to two loose batteries but only if there is no possibility of short-circuit, containing them individually within simple plastic bags or their original packaging is sufficient to prevent this and will satisfy inspectors. Click through for the DOT press release.

Digital Photography Review News :: Saturday, January 05, 2008
Sony has announced the imminent availability of its Cyber-Shot DSC-S730, a 7.2 MP entry-level digicam with 3x optical zoom and 2.4" LCD. The emphasis here is firmly on value and ease of use though, in the best Sony tradition, style and quality of construction also play a major part. This particular model looks to be a europe-only release although it is entirely possible it will be launched in other markets under a different model designation. The DSC-S730 will be available from January 2008 for the altogether reasonable sum of €139/£99.

Samsung SCX-4500 Multifuntion Laser Printer Review
Futurelooks :: Friday, January 04, 2008
Prior to hearing about the Samsung SCX-4500 multifunction printer, I couldn’t even fathom what a fashionable printer would look like. After all, printers are thought of — up until now, that is — as purely utilitarian devices. They’re there, because we need them and not because they look good. The Samsung SCX-4500 completely throws this mindset out the window.
Kingston 19-in-1 Media Reader Review![]()
Legit Reviews :: Friday, January 04, 2008
“The new Kingston 19-in-1 Reader with our 8GB 266x Compact Flash card is significantly faster than the previous Kingston readers. The Kingston 19-in-1 reader was found to be 71% faster than the Kingston 15-in-1 reader when it came to read speeds and 57% faster at write speeds. This just goes to show that if you have purchased newer hi-speed memory cards in recent years and have not upgraded your card reader that an upgrade might be due…”

OCZ ATV 4GB memory stick![]()
Gideon Tech :: Thursday, January 03, 2008
“OCZ Technology sent over their 4GB ATV memory stick to test out and abuse. Since this memory stick is ruggedized and water-proof, I’ll try to put it through some stress tests. Unlike last time, I won’t get the chance to have the kids put it in the fish tank as we no longer have fish. However, I do have about 8″ of snow outside I can use to see how it handles a night in cold weather.”

Designed to give you two hard disks in total, the new one is placed inside your notebook while the older one is installed into a USB powered 2.5” HDD enclosure and run through your USB ports; this giving you even more storage capacity.”

DXG USA DXG-110 10MP Camera
Phoronix :: Wednesday, January 02, 2008
“Normally at Phoronix we don’t look at any digital photography products, but the DXG-110 from DXG USA had caught our attention as being the first 10 megapixel digital camera available for under $200 USD (it retails for $170 to be exact). Higher megapixel cameras are often misinterpreted by consumers as meaning a higher quality product, while that is not always the case and with the DXG-110 you shouldn’t set out looking to take professional-grade photographs. In this article we are also looking at some of the photo management programs available to Linux users.”

Asus’ Eee PC 4G sub-notebook![]()
Tech Report :: Wednesday, January 02, 2008
We spend a lot of our time here at TR evaluating cutting-edge hardware, but not because we’re particularly drawn to extremely expensive components. Rather, it’s the fact that new technologies tend to debut at the high end before trickling downstream to more affordable mid-range parts. We also spend a great deal of time playing with those mid-range products, combing through their ranks in search for that perfect intersection of price and performance—the glorious sweet spot.
It’s a little odd, then, to be sitting in front of Asus’ Eee PC sub-notebook. With a Celeron ULV processor chugging along at 630MHz, GMA 900 integrated graphics powering a 800×480 display, 512MB of RAM, and just 4GB of internal storage capacity, the Eee PC’s specs are hardly awe-inspiring. In fact, this may be the first system we’ve ever reviewed that’s slower than Jessica Simpson.
