Otterbox 7030 Laptop Case Review

The Otterbox laptop case is pretty sweet, not considering its behemoth weight. The case comes with removable bumpers so you can customize the interior of the case to fit your own unique laptop.

I was oddly impressed by the velcro that Otterbox uses, it isn’t hard and pokey like typical velcro. The interior strap is made of this material, and it is just as functional as regular velcro, but softer to the touch.

The case also is available with a removable file folder for all of your papers, calculators, business cards, and writing utensils. The folder slips inside your case, but takes up room that may be in use by your laptop. The laptop case has two latches to keep it shut, and is lockable as well. The keys are somewhat flimsy, but having a lock is a nice option. The latches are heavy duty, and after being flung down a staircase, the laptop case was still shut.

Like other Otterbox products, the latches are somewhat difficult to open, but not impossible. Just don’t let anyone see you struggling with the latches… Otterbox brags that the case is waterproof, dust/dirtproof, and drop-proof. The case is made of high impact Polypropylene to keep your laptop safe, but this added protection increases the weight of the bag. The case has an inner seal that protects the insides from water, and even has a small drainage hole for the unfortunate sap that drops their laptop in the lake.
