The Tuniq Tower was recognized as one of the best air coolers on the market for longer than a year. Since then, they have become increasingly popular for their cases, thermal accessories, and most recently, power supplies. Noctua NF-B9 92mm Fan Review
Mikhailtech :: Monday, April 28, 2008
Today we are looking at Noctua’s NF-B9 92mm fan. Everybody who uses computers know how annoying computer fans can get during operation. Sometimes only two or even one fan can create a tremendous amount of noise in your computer system. As a Noctua Fan, I have set up a system with 9 of their NF-F12 fans and they perform completely silent at all operations. Noctua’s fans use high-grade components as well as extremely strict quality control in order to maintain the highest possible quality standard. Will this been the case with Noctua’s 92mm fan, and will it perform good enough to keep up with other companies fans? Let’s take a look!
AMD’s Phenom X3 8750 – The Power of 3 (![]()
Lost Circuits :: Monday, April 28, 2008
Three Cores instead of four. AMD follows in the footsteps of ATI’s “Pro” series to increase yield on the Phenom series. As it turns out, though, it is not just an issue of reducing the number of cores and incur some scaling back of performance, there are also software recognition and licensing issues that come into play. In the end, while the Phenom X3 performs admirably well in some applications, it’s performance comes in last in a number of other applications simply because, in a triple core configuration, those will only utilize a single core.
AMD Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition Review![]()
Inside HW :: Monday, April 28, 2008
…”Users familiar with AMD Black Edition brand already know what kind of CPU we got in our test lab and for those unfamiliar with BE AMD CPUs we are going to explain it. Back in the past AMD had prestigious FX series of CPUs which were very expensive but those were made from best parts of wafer and had unlocked multiplier. Now AMD has CPU series called “Black Edition” and it has very similar characteristics to FX series, but with changed price politics.”…
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 Processor![]()
Hot Hardware :: Monday, April 28, 2008
Intel’s Core 2 Quad Q9300 has some rather large shoes to fill. This newly shipping, relatively low-cost quad-core processor from Intel is a replacement for their long-standing price to performance champ, the Core 2 Quad Q6600. The Q6600 was the first quad-core in Intel’s arsenal which was actually affordable, and even today, it remains one of the best values on the market. Not only is the Core 2 Quad Q6600 inexpensive for a quad-core CPU, but it is extremely overclockable and provides a significant amount of computing power for the dollar. Core 2 Quad Q6600’s are still in high-demand – a trend which is likely to continue until they are no longer available.

Western Digital VR150 300GB Velociraptor Review
Motherboards.org :: Friday, April 25, 2008
It seems as if the folks at Western Digital have been working late night in their R&D department as the new Velociraptor takes the Raptor series to the next level. The Raptor series of drives were already a hall of fame winning product and with new drives with basically twice as fast overall performance levels these new Velociraptors will take their rightful place alongside their predecessors. The new Velociraptor is also very quiet running; you can barely hear it when engaged, always a good thing. Games were accessed faster, files transferred quicker and Music ripped seamlessly.

OpenSolaris 2008.05 Gives A New Face To Solaris
Phoronix :: Friday, April 25, 2008
“In early February, Sun Microsystems had released a second preview release of Project Indiana. For those out of the loop, Project Indiana is the codename for the project led by Ian Murdock at Sun that aims to push OpenSolaris on more desktop and notebook computers by addressing the long-standing usability problems of Solaris. We were far from being impressed by Preview 2 as it hadn’t possessed any serious advantages over a GNU/Linux desktop that would interest normal users. However, with the release of OpenSolaris 2008.05 “Project Indiana” coming up in May, Sun Microsystems has today released a final test copy of this operating system. Our initial experience with this new OpenSolaris release is vastly better than what we had encountered less than three months ago when last looking at Project Indiana.”
GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3P Motherboard Review
Virtual Hideout :: Friday, April 25, 2008
“The Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3P Motherboard is an aggressive, extreme, yet efficient platform. It’s a shock to see this board do so well and do it even better at more extreme frequencies. It’s more affordable than most P35 overclocking motherboards and has plenty of the top end features a power user could want. There is a large void out there for energy conscious users who still want real power. This is absolutely the best choice for those on a budget who didn’t think they could afford extreme performance.”
Gigabyte X48T-DQ6 Intel X48 Motherboard Review ![]()
Think Computers :: Friday, April 25, 2008
“Gigabyte was one of the first two computer hardware companies that I was aware of, along with Kingston memory. More than a decade before I decided to build my own rig, I had seen Gigabyte’s name associated with motherboards. They have been around since 1986, the dawn of the era of the PC. Today I will be looking at my first Gigabyte motherboard, the X48T-DQ6. This board is presently Gigabyte’s flagship motherboard. It sports a ton of features, natively supports DDR3-1900 memory and 1600FSB, along with CrossfireX, and looks sharp to boot. Will the Gigabyte board end my current love affair with motherboards by a four-letter word? Read on to see.”
Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3P Motherboard Review ![]()
Hardware Logic :: Friday, April 25, 2008
“Today we look at their GA-EP35-DS3P motherboard which takes a new road towards energy efficient motherboards. Even with all the extra options available, at its very core it is still a strong P35 based board. With a standard LGA775 socket, compatible processors range from the earlier Pentium4s and Celerons using the 90nm process to the latest 45nm quad core Extreme Edition processors. This board can handle pretty much any LGA775 based processor Intel has or has had on the market in the past few years. Whether you’re looking for a strong board with plenty of options or saving a few dollars on your electric bill, this board appears to fit into both columns.”
GIGABYTE G-Power 2 Pro CPU Cooler
Tweak Town :: Friday, April 25, 2008
“The GIGABYTE G-Power 2 Pro was first presented to me with a flash presentation detailing the functions and basically letting me know that it was not a mediocre product. From the start I was interested, and now that I am finished with my testing I can make you interested too.
The G-Power 2 Pro is the third in a series of G-Power products. The first and second, the G-Power Pro and G-Power Lite were both good products, but when it came to design they followed in the footsteps of other traditional CPU heatsinks. The latest version, 2 Pro steps away from what’s traditional and looks to prove that innovation leads to higher performance.”
ASUS P5K PRO Intel P35 Green ATX Motherboard Review
Big Bruin :: Friday, April 25, 2008
