In conclusion, I am damned impressed with the quality of the Verbatim TuneBoard. It has massive amounts of style while keeping with the futuristic look that today’s user has embraced. The piano black finish is always an eye pleaser, and the small speakers are powerful yet mostly hidden. There’s nothing gawdy about the design. The lighting is amazingly bright, yet doesn’t blind you due to the proper placement under the keys. Some boards on the market today seem fit to burn your corneas. I also like the under carriage lighting as well, it gives it an almost “floating above the desk” look.
Today’s computer user, no matter how novice, is all about control. If you go onto any website that offers a multi-use piece of hardware, the first thing you look for is whether it can be customized, or whether you plug it in and deal with whatever it does. The cons almost always read something like “I don’t like that you couldn’t turn off the light”. The price of the keyboard may turn off some users, especially if they don’t need the speaker functionality. The TuneBoard, while it lacks the software to customize and program keys for different uses, offers what most users crave. Beauty… and the ability to turn the crap off.
