DOS Attack

[OC]ModShop has been a target of a Distributed Denial of Service Attack (DDoS).  Apparently some user’s PCs have been compromised with a trojan virus, which is targeting certain files on OCModShop in an attempt to prevent them from being served.

The files infected are:
* C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\tcpip.sys
* C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\tcpip.sys

Most people probably don’t know they are part of this attack, and it is probably a lone individual who wrote the virus targeting us.  I have already contacted the FBI about this issue, and they are working on tracking down who wrote this virus and bringing them to justice.

In the meantime I must protect the site.  I have put measures in place to help protect the server, and may ban any IPs that attack the server… so if you get a “you are not allowed to use this website” message then you may have a trojan installed and are unknowingly attacking the site.
