Valve talks about Multi-Core CPU Processing in Source
Tweak Town :: Tuesday, November 07, 2006
There has been plenty of talk in the industry of late debating whether or not we really need Dual Core let alone four CPU cores. In our Intel QX6700 processor article, we concluded that it was probably worth waiting until investing big bucks in Intel’s latest processor, as the average user will not see much of a gain in performance by moving to four cores. Right now, CPU technology is ahead of software and the industry needs to move quickly to catch up to the hardware – they are doing it but it is taking some time. Valve is one company who understands this and is quickly working to add Multi-Core processing into their Source gaming engine and all of their very successful gaming titles.”

Bytesector :: Tuesday, November 07, 2006
“The constant quest for realism in videogames inevitably brings an individual into the realm of simulators. They are the epitome of simulated reality; wildly successful and highly addictive titles like The Sims have made our lives less mundane. However, the persistence of the flight simulator genre has cleared the way, blazing a trail for all variations of simulators. Flight Simulator X is Microsoft’s most recent addition to nearly 25 years of flight simulators, and it promises to be a culmination of realism for virtual pilots everywhere.”

F.E.A.R. Extraction Point Review
Game Pyre :: Tuesday, November 07, 2006
I’m of two minds as to Extraction point. If you’re expecting a whole new game F.E.A.R. Extraction Point is not it. At first viewing, the game doesn’t add enough to the original to warrant the extra $30 cost. If you’re a fan of F.E.A.R, the game is worth the cost because everything that you liked about the original game is here. The expansion pack is a lot of fun, especially if you enjoyed the original game, and people who enjoyed F.E.A.R. should enjoy the expansion pack as well. There’s almost no replay ability, as the single-player game is linear. Sure there are secret areas, but they are few and far between. The multi-player game has already been released in the form of F.E.A.R. Combat.

eDimensional G-Pad Pro Gyroscopic Gamepad Review
Virtual-Hideout :: Monday, November 06, 2006
“The G-Pad Pro is a slick little controller with its VRMS features. The VRMS functioned well for me with the flight simulator and did OK in the racing game, but with the FPS games it was really lacking. Now, keep in mind this is with VRMS enabled. While using it as a regular controller, it functioned like any other gamepad….”
