Xbox 360 Availability Issues

NGOHQ :: Monday, May 15, 2006
“Back in November 2005 Microsoft Corporation launched its powerful Xbox 360 console. Powered by three cores and a very powerful ATI GPU, the mighty Xbox 360 gained quite a reputation and many liked the console monster. But there is some unpleasant news regarding the Xbox 360. It seems that the Xbox 360 is not available in a few countries.”

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved
Bjorn3D :: Monday, May 15, 2006

If you are a Xbox-owner that has played Project Gotham Racing 2 you probably recognise the name. In PGR2 you could walk up to an arcade cabinet in the garage and play Geometry Wars. The game was really fun so when the Xbox 360 was being developed it seemed natural for the guys at Bizzare Creations to not only include an updated version in PGR3 but also create a stand-alone version for Xbox Live arcade.

Sony: PS3 is Doomed
CoolTechZone :: Monday, May 15, 2006
“PS3 is doomed, thanks to Sony’s ignorant attitude. None of us had the chance to seriously evaluate PS3 and the experience it has to offer. It’s impossible without a series of titles and an official product at hand, but from where we stand, Sony’s damaging attitude is all it takes to diminish the value of PS3.”

Toca:3 Drive Racer PC Game Review
Game Pyre :: Monday, May 08, 2006

Though there’s a lacking storyline, the wide branching storyline, slick and stylish graphics, along with that little bit extra brought on by just how fumed the other drivers on the road can get with you, TOCA Race Driver 3 really holds it’s roots in this corner of the racing simulation market. Through a huge series of impressive races, you’ll learn how to handle the most beastly cars along the performance racing roads, a feat that only the very few with talent (read, not me) will be able to accomplish. With that in mind, any fans of any racing title out there on the digital roads won’t have any problems digging into this title – it’s worth the drive!

Why Wii Will Win
Bona Fide Reviews :: Monday, May 08, 2006

Last year, when we first learned about Wii’s (then-named Revolution) unique controller, we published this article explaining why we thought Nintendo was on the right path to regaining the console throne. At that point in time we knew very little about the Wii and knew even less about the Playstation 3. Time has passed and information has been made public about both consoles, albeit more so about the Wii than the PS3. After taking everything in and looking at the current state of the industry we still feel very strongly about Wii’s potential to be extremely popular with consumers.

Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends Preview
Bytesector :: Monday, May 08, 2006

“The team at Big Huge Games has spent the past little while working on Rise of Legends, a new title in the Rise of Nations franchise. We got to spend a day taking a sneak peek at the game which is scheduled for release on May 9. For those of you that don’t remember, Rise of Nations was one of the better real-time strategy games from back in 2003. The game combined turn-based strategy and RTS elements with the primary goal being world domination. The RTS and TBS elements are the only thing the two games have in common. Rise of Legends takes a fantasy-based approach to the world. In addition, the game takes a departure from Rise of Nations by doing away with the entire evolution from stone-age to modern age that the original game emphasized so often.”

Space Rangers 2: Dominators Review
Strategy Informer :: Monday, May 08, 2006
Without going into too much detail, you are a fresh faced, green horned rookie. An immediate beauty to this game is the freedom available to you, so the universe is in a bit of a pickle right now, well so what! I want my cut of the intergalactic swag and no silly camel faced alien or deadly kill-bots are going to mess with my profits. Yes you can follow the storyline is you wish, or just break away from all the politics and plights of the commoner and go into business trading or offering protection to the local systems trade routes.

Black & White 2: Battle Of The Gods Review
Strategy Informer :: Monday, May 08, 2006

This expansion sees the crafty Aztecs back at it again; simply unsatisfied you whooped them first time around – either with showering kindness or bloodlust. Desperate for revenge, they begin sacrificing their dead legions and manage to summon a God of the damned. This new kid on the block doesn’t seem to like all this living malarkey and so naturally he raises his fallen chums to correct the matter. You’re left to clean up quite the mess, already you enter to find towns pillaged and even your own worshippers imprisoned. Now I would really advise any who intend to play this to first go through the tutorial of B&W2 as otherwise you’ll find yourself coming up short.

World War II Combat: Road to Berlin (PC)
Strategy Informer :: Monday, May 08, 2006

One of the most recent releases from Groove Games and Direct Action, World War II Combat: Road to Berlin has turned out to be rather a disappointment on all fronts. In researching previews I wanted to like this game and wanted to see it do better than others in the same genre. In a World War II first person shooter you have to stand out or be buried in the competition. Flaws that seem minor will be worse in comparison and in this case the flaws rather overwhelm the redeeming qualities. From graphics to soundtrack to game play and basic design World War II Combat: Road to Berlin is not only lack luster, but seems to have barely got off of the starting line and ended no where near the finish.

Auto Assault Review
Strategy Informer :: Monday, May 08, 2006
What grand fun it is, tearing about the planes in your vehicle, fetchingly colored to suit your tastes, and killing various creatures for points. It’s post apocalyptic fun for all the family, as three factions vy for control of an earth that’s probably not worth having anyway. You see, everything has gone to hell, as tends to happen in post apocalyptic scenarios, and the planet is now populated with various xenophobic factions who wish nothing much but death upon one another. The humans, who remain genetically pure are super keen to preserve the purity of the human genome (remind us of anyone with a funny little mustache?) The mutants, who embrace their mutancy and think they’re pretty awesome, and the biomechanical race who have merged technology and humanity to create a new form of life altogether.

Nintendo Wii – What’s In A Name?
The Tech Zone :: Tuesday, May 02, 2006

Nintendo has placed itself at a marketing disadvantage with this decision because they will have to sell the name to consumers. The name is not self-explanatory and people will have to hear the little story behind the name to really understand it. Names like Playstation, Xbox, and Gamecube are all fairly easy for people to grasp because they know it’s a station, box, or cube plays games. But what is a Wii?

The Creative X-Fi Scandal
NGOHQ :: Tuesday, May 02, 2006
: “The media around the world already covered it and revealed all these issues many months ago. Creative even confirmed some of these issues. Today after many months, we did a little research to find out what has happened since then. We found out that only a few manufacturers have released BIOS updates to solve some of these issues. Creative has made a mysterious firmware upgrade that cannot be found on their website, and some users claimed it killed their card. According to users in their forums, most of the effected consumers are STILL having issues with the X-Fi series.”

Nintendo’s Thunder
Bona Fide Reviews :: Tuesday, May 02, 2006
BOOM. That’s the sound of Nintendo’s recent announcement of their next console’s official name spreading across the Internet. In case you have been under a rock the past week or so, Nintendo’s next console, formerly known as the “Revolution”, is now called “Wii”. My personal thoughts on the name later. Regardless of the name change, I still believe Nintendo is in a great position with their console to make a serious run at regaining the throne of console gaming.
