“Available in expanded colour palette options to express your personal style (Obsidian Black, Alpine White, Cherry Red, Pretty Pink, Ice Blue and Jade Green), the Mini 10 is more than capable of handling the basic computing tasks it was designed for. However, thanks to Intel’s wretchedgraphics chipset and poor driver support, the video playback – both streaming Internet video and files stored on the hard drive – brings the machine to a crippling halt. To add insult to injury, the Mini 10 boats an operating time of under 3 hours from the 4-cell battery, which is borderline acceptable. The Mini 10 is a fine all-round netbook, but we’d have liked a much better battery life and 3G built in as standard. The lack of solid state storage at launch (February 26) is another disappointment, as is no Gigabit Ethernet for super-speedy wired networking.”

To be honest we have just released our 1 KW as we really don’t see a big need for it. We have had 1.2 and 1.5 ready for some time but really other than a marketing benefit the product will not be a long lasting item. As by the time we actually will need 1KW and more the way the connectors will feed the system would have changed. To give you an example you may not know, the connectors that connect the PSU cables to the board and various devices are made to carry 75 watts, any more they melt. That is except the PCI-E connector (they had to change them as they needed more power for the GPU) can carry 150 before they start melting. So as you can see when the devices like GPU or boards come that need more power either we have to have loads of the existing connectors, or we will be asked to change like we were with advent of SLI to the new higher rated material.

Energizer recently released a trio of charging solutions for the current generation of gaming consoles. Today we will be looking at the Energizer Power Play Charging System for 360. This charging system for 360 controllers is made by gaming peripheral maker Performance Design Products and sold under the Energizer brand name. The Energizer Power Play Charging System for 360 allows up to two controllers to be charged simultaneously. Charging time is approximately two and a half hours. There is one caveat, batteries are not included and you will need to own a rechargeable battery pack made by Microsoft or use Energizer rechargeable batteries. All other rechargeable batteries and battery packs may or may not work with this system. Let’s take a closer look at this Energizer product and find out if you need to keep going and going past it or not.

“For some, it’s difficult to understand the benefits of an all-in-one setup, especially if you have a dedicated ‘computer’ room in your home. If, however, you give an iMac-alike (or an iMac) a chance during your day-to-day computer use, the benefits of an all-in-one are hard to miss. But regarding the positives of an all-in-one system, people typically opt for this of machine for looks and space – sometime you just don’t have the space for a tower and a small form factor PC just can’t do the job! For people who are not worried solely about performance/upgrading, these are all very appealing characteristics of an all-in-one. Also, in this day and age, component failure is basically a non-issue and you don’t have to worry about cooling, upgradability, replacing broken components, and so on. All-in-one computers are, generally, much quieter than desktops (they use laptop components, so heat is never a problem), substantially reduce clutter, and are infinitely more attractive than a tower & monitor & speakers & Web camera & cables all over the place. The only downsides are that the display isn’t touchscreen, the fixed stand prevents wall-mounting, and lack of 64-bit Vista hurts performance. nVidia’s GeForce 9600M GT graphics card doesn’t pack enough power for high-end gaming, either. Nonetheless, if you’re sold on the idea of reducing clutter and want an adequate jack-of-all-trades, Dell’s XPS One 24 is hard to beat.”
