PlayStation3 Users Significantly Contribute To The Folding@home Program
Sony :: Wednesday, April 25, 2007
Exhibiting its continued commitment to the program, SCE also announced that starting tomorrow, it is providing a Folding@home application update that will further enhance the user experience. The updated software features an improvement in folding calculation speeds, increased visibility of user location (*1) on the globe and the ability for users to create longer donor or team names.

“The PS3 turnout has been amazing, greatly exceeding our expectations and allowing us to push our work dramatically forward,” said Vijay Pande, Associate Professor of Chemistry at Stanford University and Folding@home program lead. “Thanks to PS3, we have performed simulations in the first few weeks that would normally take us more than a year to calculate. We are now gearing up for new simulations that will continue our current studies of Alzheimer’s and other diseases.”

Black Knight 360 Case Review/ Installation Guide
Driver Heaven :: Wednesday, April 25, 2007
As you may have heard Microsoft are bringing out a black 120GB HDD model of the Xbox 360 along with a built in HDMI port for those people who require it – it is to be called “The Elite”. They are also bringing out various black accessories to match the new case. This model will be called the ‘Elite’ and is quite a bit more expensive than the existing ‘Premium’ model and is aimed at the people who download and save lots of films via the video marketplace or who want a HDMI connection. This new black 360 isn’t out over here in Europe for quite some time unfortunately.

What I thought would be a fun project is to see how easy it is to turn a regular Xbox 360 into a “black one” far cheaper than having to buy a whole new console. Not everyone would want or require a 120GB Hard drive (which can be bought separately anyway once it is launched although the price isn’t very cheap) or the HDMI port but they do like the look of the black chassis.
