Is 64-Bit Crysis Really Faster Than 32-Bit Crysis? ![]()
Tech ARP :: Saturday, November 03, 2007
Those who have already given the Crysis single-player demo a try have not only been impressed by the visual effects but also the incredibly stress it put on their hardware.
In a recent GameSpot interview, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli mentioned that the 64-bit version of Crysis would be better than the 32-bit version.
Before you go rushing off to buy the 64-bit version of Windows Vista though, take a look at what we found when we benchmarked the 64-bit Crysis and compared it to the performance of the 32-bit Crysis.

The Orange Box Xbox 360 Review
Gamepyre :: Friday, November 02, 2007
After spending quite a bit of time with The Orange Box, I can say this deal is definitely money well spent. The cost here is well justified by the sheer number of great games in the deal, 3 of which are completely new products. Valve has done a great job giving gamers a reason to keep using the Half Life 2 engine, even if it is a bit dated now. They manage to keep the fun and replayability high on these new titles, and there’s a good bite to the multiplayer as well. Any fan of FPS games should check this deal out, and probably get sucked into Portal like all the rest of us.

This is the latest model in 3DConnexion’s product lineup and it is aimed for, like they say on the company’s website: “for architects, artists, students and anyone else who wants to enjoy the 3D experience.”
Proper Multicore Gaming
YouGamers :: Thursday, November 01, 2007
“Core blimey – they’re finally all getting used! Cores in a CPU, that is. Yes, at long last, after two years from when the first dual core CPUs (and nearly one year for quad cores) appeared on the market, we’ve now got games properly using the hardware that many gamers have these days. However, we’ve noticed on our forums that people are stating that some of the big names, such as the recent Crysis demo, are using all of the cores “fully”. Read on to find out the truth behind this and what “fully” using all of the cores actually means.”

The Settlers: Rise of an Empire review
YouGamers :: Thursday, November 01, 2007
“Some reviews have already criticized Rise of an Empire for being a huge resource hog, so our testing began with the expectation of poor frame rates at the low end. With the impressive visuals like these, the claims printed on the box seemed unrealistic. According to Ubisoft, to run the game you need just a lowly ATI Radeon 9500 or NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti-series card, and the minimum processor is set just as low (a 2 GHz Pentium 4 or similar Athlon XP 2000+). I expected a full-on slideshow, but surprisingly the game scales very well towards the low end, so at first I didn’t quite figure out why people complained – it plays surprisingly well on the publisher’s minimum.”
Crysis 32 vs 64 bit – the real story?
YouGamers :: Thursday, November 01, 2007
“One thing that can’t be denied about Crytek’s demo of Crysis is that it’s very newsworthy! A sharp eyed forum regular (cheers UTGeneral!) noticed that Legion Hardware had posted a brief comparison between how well Crysis runs in 32 bit and 64 bit modes. Their conclusion was that 64 bit was quite a bit better. Well that piqued my curiosity, so we gave it a bash too! Hmm, the results are… different…”
Wolf King Warrior Review
Gamepyre :: Thursday, November 01, 2007
I don’t even have the cable complaint here with the Warrior. This this is just all around a great gamepad. When you look around at stores and websites, many similar products are priced in such a way that all companies expect gamers to be made of money. Wolf King realizes that not all of us had thousands in expendable income with which to purchase gaming items, and they keep their prices reasonable because of it.
