Logitech G15 Keyboard V2
Modders Inc :: Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A few years back Logitech introduced the G15 Keyboard to the masses. No one had seen a keyboard that resembled the likes of it before. It took some of the features that people had been hacking into their own keyboards and made it mainstream. But that was a few years ago and now Logitech has updated the looks of the G15 and has re-released it. Was it worth the trouble for Logitech to redesign one of its most popular keyboards?

Cars: Mater-National Sony PS3 Video Game Review
i4u :: Wednesday, November 28, 2007
“My son was easily able to control the car in the game in all play modes. Gameplay puts you in different Cars characters from the movie and some new characters from the video game. Game modes include different races from three different areas of the Cars world including Radiator Springs, Ornament Valley and Tailfin Pass.”

NZXT Rogue SFF Gaming Case Review
OCIA :: Wednesday, November 28, 2007
“NZXT has sent over one of their latest cases, the Rogue. Although they list it with their Crafted series, the smooth clean lines of this SFF case I feel more appropriately fits the Classic series. But the Rogue doesn’t exactly match either of their two categories, most of which are populated by mid-tower designs. As this is targeted as a SFF LAN gaming case, a first for NZXT, this really comes as no surprise.”

Preview: Dead Island
Primo Technology :: Tuesday, November 27, 2007
An ambitious, open-ended zombie action game, Dead Island is the latest title under development by the Polish studio that brought gamers Call of Juarez and Chrome. To answer our most burning questions about Dead Island, we noshed on the brain of the game’s producer, Adrian Ciszewski.

Empire Earth III review
YouGamers :: Tuesday, November 27, 2007
“Actual gameplay harkens back to an earlier era of RTS development. Far from being a quaint return to the basics, however, Empire Earth III is an oversimplified, unbalanced mess. The map is littered with different resources, from fish to lumber, but inexplicably all resources are pooled into one catch-all resource bin. Token diplomacy options are available, and it makes little sense to engage in relations with an opponent when the only international stances are “War” and “Alliance”.”

Flight Sim X Acceleration review
YouGamers :: Tuesday, November 27, 2007
“By far the most exciting missions are delivered by the air races, from the classic Reno Air Race to the newer (and equally dangerous) Red Bull Air Race events. The timed Red Bull races, flown in nimble Extra 300 craft, use a point scoring system as pilots manoeuvre through pylon-delineated courses close to the ground in urban environments. These events are strictly for expert pilots, as the required acrobatic manoeuvres require hours of practice.”

SimCity Societies review
YouGamers :: Monday, November 26, 2007
“So what can you do? You can build dirt roads and city streets, and you can place buildings – and boy, there are buildings. Tons of them, with many of them initially locked in the standard mode, requiring you to reach certain Value thresholds with your city before they become available. You no longer zone land for commerce, residential or industrial use, and then hope the residents and businesses find the area desirable enough to build in – instead you just drop in buildings. There are no maintenance costs either, so you can’t really run out of money. In practice, if you do run out, just wait a while until your Workplace buildings generate some more funds for the city, and you can continue on your building spree. There are no taxes either – each revenue-generating building just supplies you with fixed amount every “workday”.”

Slim Sony PSP PSP-2000 Review
i4u :: Saturday, November 24, 2007
“On the game titles I played, I noticed a slight improvement in load times for games and levels, but nothing to write home about. External changes to the new PSP include the loss of the UMD eject button. You now simply pry the UMD bay door open with your fingernail. The WiFi button now sites where the eject button is on the old PSP.”

Metroid Prime 3 (Wii)
Gaming Heaven :: Thursday, November 22, 2007
Nintendo certainly has it’s fair share of iconic game series. If you think of the big N, you instantly reminisce about good times with Mario, hours spent exploring dungeons with Link in the Legend of Zelda games, or perhaps it’s Samus Aran and her Metroid adventures that really float your boat? All 3 of these series encapsulate some of the best aspects of gaming freedom, exploration, perfect character movement and a strong central individual. The Zelda games and Metroid series in particular, share a lot of elements, in fact a more cynical observer might be inclined to think that they nailed the formula a while ago, and have just been rehashing ever since.

Empire Earth 3 PC Review
Gamepyre :: Thursday, November 22, 2007
Can somebody give me my money back please? Empire Earth III is by far the worst game released in 2007. Empire Earth was amazing, Empire Earth II had some clever ideas but the physics were not done well, and Empire Earth III follows in the footsteps of Empire Earth II (some good ideas but extremely poorly executed). I can almost guarantee it that if you grab any RTS randomly from a store’s shelf you will be better off than choosing Empire Earth III. The only innovating feature was expanding on an idea stolen from the Total War series – the turn-base world map feature incorporated in an RTS.

Mask of the Betrayer review
YouGamers :: Thursday, November 22, 2007
“If you’re going to call a CRPG campaign “multiplayer”, try to at least allow for the most basic tenant of role-play adventuring: specialized characters that complement each other. After all, those stereotyped roles are what makes it easy to assume a role and have fun pretending. But no, not so for Mask of the Betrayer. In the Barbarians’ Ice Lodge in Mulsantir, one of the party has to prove their might against the local barbarian posse. Does our mighty, all muscle and no wit Half-Orc, Andre the Giant, finally step up to the plate? No, says the game, the best representative is obviously Kamile, the petite and whiny Bard – after all, she’s the protagonist. This is where Andre lost it and decided that he’d had enough of this multiplayer experience.”

Assassins Creed (Xbox 360 and Playstation 3)
Driver Heaven :: Thursday, November 22, 2007
It all started with RPGs. Sword wielding, dragon slaying dungeon crawlers where players got to save the land over and over again. Then with advances in technology these fantasy expeditions slowly crawled from underground to the vast expanses of the top-side world. With trends moving farther away from fantasy with each passing year it was only a matter of time before this free-roaming concept was taken to a new, more popular environment. The result? Grand Theft Auto was born! Freed from the shackles of earning experience and leveling up, the game became a smash hit. It seems however that things run in cycles here, so the latest GTA (San Andreas) had us earning experience again (in a way) and building up our character with various skills/statistics. Stick the thing into a medieval environment and you have a pretty natural follow up to the classic RPGs of decades past. And voila, this is exactly what Assassins Creed aims to do!
