“Last month we reported on VIA’s new open-source driver efforts that was announced at the LF Austin Summit. This new strategy involves VIA providing the open-source community with NDA-free hardware specifications, code, and other resources — in a similar fashion to what ATI/AMD and Intel have been doing for some time now. However, not everyone has been satisfied by this announcement and their new Linux website isn’t yet exactly useful. We explore the VIA Linux situation in this article as well as sharing what two open-source developers have to say.”

If you haven't noticed we've done a bit of redesign to the site, though I'm sure you did by now… through the magic of CSS and little HTML thrown in we've got a nice new site that I hope works and looks much better. It's much more streamlined now, and I know I'm happier with it, there are a couple tiny kinks to work out yet, but for the most part it's complete and will remain this way for quite some time.Some might question the color scheme, but I wanted something different, something that stands out, but yet works well together.I think it's easier to navigate now with the larger highlighted menu, and I think the important stuff stands out better now. Thre are a couple more things to be added yet, and a few more tweaks but nothing major overall… I'm still finishing up the redesign/reorganization of the 'Reviews' page, I like the small pictures better of the individual items, yes I know it loads a bit slow right now, but within the next week or so we will be moving to a new server where things will be much quicker to load overall.I still need to come up with an official logo for the site, but my lack of time has put that to the side for now…
