Noctua (http://www.noctua.at) has honored us with the privilege of being their US launch partner for their new CPU cooler. The C12P continues Noctua's tradition of striving for performance without sacrificing quality along the way. The C12P is like no other Noctua designed cooler to date, and not much like any other CPU cooler I've even seen actually. It incorporates six heatpipes into a short, fat style body that Noctua calls a 'C-Type' design with airflow gaps that allow cooling of the motherboard components as well. This design allows for a much higher compatibility with more motherboards and PC case configurations, where a tall CPU cooler won't fit the NH-C12P will fit easily. The NH-C12P uses Noctua's own NF-P12 120mm fan for cooling so you know it will be quiet as well. The Noctua NH-C12P is possibly the best cooler on the market today, from my testing and re-testing it beats all others I have for comparison, and that includes names like Thermalright, Scythe, Zalman, and OCZ. I was so surprised by the results of my testing that I re-did the testing all over again to be sure of my results, and they were the same, the NH-C12P is the new king of CPU coolers… So, please continue on to learn more about what could possibly be one of the best CPU coolers on the market today…

Getting the Kingston HyperX 2GB PC2-9200 DDR2 memory kit up to the stock speed of 1150MHz was tricky only because it is an odd speed that I couldn’t quite dial in with the settings found in the test system’s BIOS. But getting into that general range required minimal effort, and even overclocking to well above 1200MHz was pretty much plug and play.

Clearly unlike any other notebook you would have seen from them in the past, it looks as if it would be better suited to ‘nitro crew’ outfitting hotrods with digitized tune-ups. The sleek glossy black coating is aimed to catch the eye, while the top cover is emblazoned with a superman style logo in an equally loud fashion.
In particular, this GX600X top of the line notebook is a peak performer, with excellent overclocking capabilities as well as lots and lots of features and peripherals; from e-SATA or HDMI connectivity to a special ‘Turbo’ button that we found gives a 20% increase in processor speed. The Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity are as to be expected from a high-end notebook, whereas the graphics are truly magnificent in such a small platform.

Integrated graphics are great for the person wanting to build a inexpensive system as you only need the memory, hdds, case drives and you have a cool system that plays every game out there, with lowered resolution or setting but it still can play those games with the full visual fidelity that playing the games with a high-end card would do. The ECS board is a little slower than the Gigabyte board that has the same chipset and components. I would attribute this to the differences between two motherboards using the same chipset and not worthy of mention except that it is across the board. ECS’s board is on the web for around $80, making it a good board to purchase for those wanting an inexpensive yet functional computer system.

“The Bgears b-Envi MicroATX was extremely fun to test because it kept surprising me with it’s features. First of all, how cool is it to have LED touch buttons for your front panel? They are responsive buttons that beep when you touch them so that you know that the touch was registered. Also, the buttons are lockable so that you don’t accidentally hit one of the buttons and turn off your computer by mistake. The case only weighs eight pounds before you put the components inside of it, and even after the components are installed, this case is still rather light. I will definitely be bringing this case to LAN parties.”
