Cooler Master X Craft 250 USB 2.0 Hard Drive Enclosure

NZXT Precise 850W & 1000W Power Supplies
3dGameman :: Wednesday, March 21, 2007
“Other than the Enermax Uber Chakra Case not being aluminum, it’s very impressive. The styling on this product is very well done and allows easy access to the many drive bays. There is also a very convenient on-top interface with power button, reset button, 2 USB ports, mic jack, headphone jack, and eSATA port. The included 250mm fan is outstanding since it moves a lot of air, but remains extremely quiet. There’s even plenty of room to work on the inside. If you’re budget conscious but still require a full size case, I would highly recommend this product. Watch the video to find out more and check out the bloopers at the end.”

Coolermaster GeminII Fan Review
Driver Heaven :: Wednesday, March 21, 2007
CoolerMaster has been around for so long I’m seeing the label on many of the fans of the older systems I pick up and work on for other people. The company has earned a solid reputation for performance in providing devices to keep vital components cool under stress. That’s what we all need in today’s high-demanding systems where we try to squeeze out every little bit of performance gain through overclocking components like our CPUs, Video Cards and even our RAM.

So, it’s no surprise to see CoolerMaster still developing even better and better cooling systems for the enthusiast and game addicts. (Yes, you can include me in that last category. )

CellShock DDR2 1000 2GB Memory Kit
Legit Reviews :: Wednesday, March 21, 2007
“This Cell Shock DDR2 1000 2GB kit was a great memory kit to be introduced to. The memory modules that I was able to use were found to be of high quality and featured a unique design to the heat spreader. More specifically, it uses the ever popular Micron D9GKX memory IC’s, is built on an 8 layer PCB and a well built heat spreader. It performed very well, in fact, very comparable to our Corsair ram that we tested against…”

Ultra Grid Mid Tower Case Review
Overclockers Club :: Wednesday, March 21, 2007
“A Grid can be known as a standard method for the location of a point on a map or a model that provides the ability to perform higher throughput computing.. This Grid deals with computing but does it have the ability to help you achieve a higher throughput? Ultra has developed a computer enclosure called the Grid a mid-tower ATX tower case that features an acrylic side panel an Ultra XVS 700W modular PSU and a swing out bezel to hide what many consider unsightly drive bays. Will the Ultra Grid be functional enough to provide as implied in its name?”

Asus’ P5N-E SLI and Striker Extreme motherboards
The Tech Report :: Wednesday, March 21, 2007
ASUS’ STRIKER EXTREME MOTHERBOARD is a perfect example of why high-end products garner so much attention. The name alone screams “look at me,” and in a pleasant surprise, there’s actually plenty to see. You get a top-of-the-line nForce 680i SLI chipset, incredibly intricate heatpipe cooling, enough blue LEDs to be seen from space, more BIOS tweaking and overclocking options than any sane person could ever need, an LCD display right in the port cluster, and a stack of unique extras in the box. The board is also a member of Asus’ Republic of Gamers series, so it’s your ticket to gaining access to those ultra-secret Sealand LAN parties. Or something.

The Strike Extreme’s array of innovative features and decadent extras is enough to make any enthusiast swoon, but with street prices drifting well over $300, it costs more than what most enthusiasts can afford—or at least more than most of us are willing to pay. We enthusiasts tend to be reluctant to shell out for high-end products when the market is peppered with mid-range gems that cost less than half as much as the opulent Striker.

One of those mid-range gems might just be Asus’ own P5N-E SLI. The P5N-E lacks many of the extras that come with the Striker—including the fancy heatpipes, flashy lights, and LCD display—but you still get nForce 650i core logic, passive chipset cooling, SLI support, and enough BIOS-level overclocking options to exploit the full potential of a Core 2 Duo. With motherboards doing little to affect overall system performance, especially when it comes to applications and games, the P5N-E SLI should be every bit as fast as the Striker.

Cooler Master CoolViva Pro Review
OCIA :: Wednesday, March 21, 2007
“The CoolViva features a copper base with three copper heatpipes that run the length (top to bottom) of the heatsink. The pipes cross through aluminum fins to dissipate heat. The radial fan forces air through the fins by blowing air from front to back and then out through the rear of the case using the vented riser plate. The fan shroud is not directly connected to the riser vent however and rather than forcing the hot air out the back of the case as some cooler designs allow for, the CoolViva is just blowing the air in that direction.”

Sunbeamtech Quarterback ATX Case
PC Apex :: Wednesday, March 21, 2007
“The interior of the case looks pretty standard, except for the vertical bar that goes in the middle of the case which suspends two 120mm fans. Under the floppy cage there is room for another 120mm fan; just in case four fans are not enough cooling. The Quarterback utilizes a screw-less design which allows you to install optical drives, hard drives, and PCI cards without the need for a screwdriver. One big feature that the case is lacking is a removable motherboard tray; however, the tool-less installation makes up for it a bit I think.”

A field guide to cryptography [March 21st 2007]
Ice Teks :: Wednesday, March 21, 2007
Cryptography the very word speaks of mystery, secrets, and agoodstoryline. In fact, what most of us know about the subject revolvesaround exactly those terms. Its history and usage are often portrayedas shrouded secrets, where the only data valuable enough to deservesuch treatment involves the national security of some nation. For mostof us, the very concept brings up images of the CIA or MI6.Hollywood and suspense writers have done little to disabuse us of thisnotion, with some of the greatest novels and movies focusing around thecloak and dagger portrayal of coded messages. That image isn’t entirelywrong, either even back before medieval times, cryptography was usedto conceal plans to overthrow governments and assassinate churchleaders. Computers have been a tremendous aid to that, allowing muchmore complex algorithms, elaborate keys and longer messages.

nVidia GeForce 8800GTS 640MB vs. 1280MB in SLI mode [March 21st 2007]
Ice Teks :: Wednesday, March 21, 2007
We have had a look at the 320MB nVidia GeForce 8800GTS graphic card offering a few times here at TweakTown in the past we have looked at it in its stock form, overclocked and in SLI. It’s a fantastic card and doesn’t disappoint but in our first article we mainly focused on how it compared against the 640MB in single card configuration. Today we are going to be re focusing on this situation but when the cards are used together in SLI mode.With in excess of 1.2GB of memory on offer when the 640MB cards are enabled in SLI mode, you have to wonder are we simply at a point of overkill. Are the 640MB cards for non SLI and the 320MB cards for SLI? These are some of the questions we hope to answer today.

XFX GeForce 8800GTS 320MB XXX (Factory Overclocked) [March 19th 2007]
Ice Teks :: Tuesday, March 20, 2007
The particular variant we are looking at is the XXX edition which has the highest core and memory speed the other OC version from XFX is the Extreme edition which has slightly higher clock speeds than the base model but lower than XXX edition. There is also of course a default (base) model although we have seen the performance of that from the MSI GTS 320MB product offering already.Let’s continue on and see what XFX have for us package wise before we check out the card and then later its performance. It is actually worth spending more on the factory overclocked edition or is it a waste of money?

Logitech VX Revolution Laser Cordless Mouse for Notebooks Review
The TechZone :: Monday, March 19, 2007
Anyone that has ever used a laptop can tell you that the little nubby thing in the middle of the keyboard just doesn’t give the same level of precision as a regular old mouse. I personally like the touchpad a lot more than the little red nubby, but even then, nothing beats a conventional mouse that you can actually move around. At the same time, the last thing you want is to have countless cables sticking out of your notebook, so a wireless mouse is an absolute must. And I think we have just discovered what could be the absolute best notebook mouse out there in the Logitech VX Revolution, the laptop version of its bigger and more impressive brother, the MX Revolution.
