Virtual Hideout :: Tuesday, March 13, 2007
“The installation methods for both AMD and Intel are very simple and easy. The EnzoTech Ultra-X cooled the Core 2 Duo better than any CPU cooler heat sink to ever come across this desktop. Its performance surpassed my most trusted CPU coolers which makes it my current number one recommendation.”

Zalman CNPS9500 AM2 CPU Cooler Review
ThinkComputers :: Monday, March 12, 2007
The last time we took a look at a cooler from Zalman it was way back in July! So it has been a while since we have seen Zalman’s offerings. Today we will be taking a look at the CNPS9500 AM2 CPU Cooler which is compatible with AM2/754/939/940 AMD processors and features a pure copper heatsink and innovative curved heatpipe design for a heat transfer capacity of up to six heatpipes with the use of just three. Let’s take a look and see how it compared to the other AM2 CPU coolers we have tested.

Thermaltake Extreme Spirit II Northbridge Cooler![]()
PC Apex :: Monday, March 12, 2007
“It’s no secret that computers continue to get hotter and hotter as speeds scale higher and higher. CPU coolers have evolved from simple passively cooled aluminum heatsinks to massive towers of copper and aluminum bristling with heat pipes and fans. It’s no suprise Northbridge chipsets are headed the same direction. The modest aluminum coolers of a short time ago have grown many times their original size. All copper NB coolers, with active fans, that were once considered unnecessary for anyone but the bleeding edge enthusiast have become commonplace on many boards. While these solutions are generally adequate to the task for the average user, if you plan on pushing your new Core2 Duo or AMD2 you might want to consider upgrading your Northbridge cooler. And even if you don’t plan on setting records, a better cooler is a good way to insure your investment.”
Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-8500 RAM Review![]()
Overclockers Club :: Monday, March 12, 2007
“These modules come with a lifetime warranty. They have black aluminum heat spreaders on them to facilitate in dispersing the heat generated. This would be especially helpful for the overclocking enthusiast in all of us. Each side of each module has a raised and brushed aluminum logo, “DDR2” on one side and “Patriot” on the other. The heat spreaders are slightly finned to increase the surface area for more heat dissipation. The attached labels show off the Patriot red, white and blue colors and allow you to clearly see the model number and timings of the modules. They also have free technical support if you should ever need it. So, let us see if these modules perform as well as they look.”
OCZ’s Flex XLC PC2-9200 Memory
Neoseeker :: Monday, March 12, 2007
“OCZ did an excellent job on the PC2-9200, it ran at up to 1250MHz without even water cooling! These are simply insane speeds that far exceed any spec that you would have believed even half a year ago. The natural comparison of the Flex XLC would be Corsair’s high performance Dominator series. If OCZ was going for a “bigger is better” approach, then they certainly came out on top. The giant OCZ XLC heatspreaders “out-dominate” the Corsair Dominator’s impressive looks, and the PC2-9200 out-overclock the XMS2’s too. ”
ASUS P5B Premium Vista Edition
Bjorn 3d :: Monday, March 12, 2007
If you think that we already have reviewed the ASUS P5B you are correct. I reviewed the P5B-E back in end of November 2006 and really liked it, awarding it 9 out of 10 and a Seal of Approval. So why do we review it again? Well – this time it is another variant of the P5B that we are taking a look on.
ASUS is doing the same thing as NVIDIA and ATI are doing. They come out with a wide range of products, all having almost the same name. A quick look at a local e-retailer gave me a list of 9 different P5B motherboards in addition to all the other P5-something (P5W, P5N and so on) motherboards ASUS sells.
The motherboard that is under scrutiny today is the new P5B PremiumVista Edition motherboard. As the name implies this is a motherboard that is aimed for everyone who already has or plan to build a computer with Vista.
Editorial: Real or Fake?

“So you’ve had a good idea. You’ve joined forces with a producer in the Far East. All the necessary patents have been filled. You’re the darling of all the trade shows. You’re order books are full. A story of guaranteed success you might think. Well think again. This was basically the position in which model helicopter designer Alexander Van de Rostyne found himself after joining forces with Hong Kong toy producer Silverlit Electronics in early 2005. Together they produced the remote control (RC) PicooZ toy helicopter. “

NZXT ZERO Case Review: How quiet can seven fans be?
Madshrimps :: Monday, March 12, 2007
“The NZXT company is young, yet their cases have already gained a solid foot-hold on the market. Today we test the ZERO, a case with a total of seven 12cm fans and a 8cm top mounted fan. Does it move around the floor on its own? Can it double as a hovercraft? Read on..”
nMedia HTPC 288BA Case Review
GideonTech :: Monday, March 12, 2007
“Needless to say, the HTPC market is booming big time. With the constant drop in prices for home theatre setups, many people are looking into HTPCs to perform their multimedia duties.
Not surprisingly, a lot of new companies are forming to feed this need. One of them being nMedia PC. Formed in 2004, nMedia PC is on the forefront of the HTPC boom. Based in China and the US, they manufacture pretty much all you need for your home media center. Today, we are going to take a look at their HTPC 288BA case.”
Sytrin KuFormula SHF1 Ultra HDD Cooler Review
Tech Reviews :: Monday, March 12, 2007
When we think of heat related issues in our computer we usually are referring to things link the processor, video card, and memory. The last thing we think of also seems to be the heat created by our hard drives. Whether it is a 7,500 RPM SATA drive or 10,000 RPM SCSI Drive, when you start adding multiple drives to your systems the temperature will increase considerably.
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 LP Heatsink Review
Frosty Tech :: Monday, March 12, 2007
“TThe Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 LP is a low profile AMD Athlon64 heatsink for media centers, or any situation where the compact size of the computer case limits the vertical profile of the thermal solution. The heatsink is compatible with both socket 754/939/940 and socket AM2 AMD processors, and due to the low profile design constraints it features a rather unique “sandwich” design. The Freezer 64 LP stands no taller than 65mm, with two low noise 60mm fans mounted at either side of the heatsink providing all the cooling airflow. The heatsink itself is a combination of two simple extruded aluminum heatsinks, bonded together where three copper heatpipes meet.”
Blame Vista
Fast Silicon :: Monday, March 12, 2007
One final point we want to make absolutely clear at the outset is that we’re not particularly zealous fans of Windows Vista ourselves. We don’t hate it nor do we understand why anyone would develop hatred for an inanimate construct, but we’re not experiencing much in the way of love for it either. For us, and this is an issue that’s been made clear in reviews and articles about Vista in other publications, it’s simply a fact that we don’t see or feel that there is any particular or compelling reason to care about Vista, at least at this very early stage of it’s deployment. The changes from a use standpoint we feel are rather mediocre and minor, and bring very little to the table that we can’t already experience with Windows XP.
ASUS M2N32-SLI Premium Vista Edition Motherboard Review
Motherboards.org :: Monday, March 12, 2007
From a features point of view, the M2N32-SLI Premium Vista Edition motherboard can’t be beat. To go along with SLI technology, the board comes with a remote control, a 512MB USB Flash drive, the ScreenDUO PDA like device and more, this board is about the most feature-rich motherboard on the market today.
Foxconn N68S7AA-8EKRS2H nForce 680i Motherboard
Tweak Town :: Monday, March 12, 2007
“Intel has its own very solid P965 and 975X chipsets along with its upcoming Bearlake P35 and X38 series chipsets with DDR-3 memory support among other things and should show up in the May and June time frame. SiS has new ones coming out, VIA even has started to look into Core 2 and even AMD/ATI has chipsets currently on the market and even working on new ones for their competitors processor platform. nVidia though at this time is the biggest player for Core 2, especially for Dual Graphics SLI.
Today we are looking at another contender for the Core 2 market using the nVidia nForce 680i chipset being Foxconn with their obscurely named N68S7AA-8EKRS2H motherboard. Foxconn has been known in the past for the more budget conscious boards, not wanting to take on the big boys like MSI, ASUS, Gigabyte and the likes who really push overclocking to its limits but it seems like they mean business now and are ready for the challenge.”

Acer AL2223Wd Office![]()
Phoronix :: Monday, March 12, 2007
“While not our primary focus at Phoronix, in the past we had reviewed the Acer AL1714CB, AL1732 Prestige, and dual AL1715b LCD monitors. Even though Acer’s LCDs are not nearly as popular as those from Dell are, we have been very fond of the models that we had looked at in the past. Being nearly a year since we looked at the AL1732 Prestige, which was a phenomenal display, we once again chased down another new Acer monitor. In this review we will be looking at the Acer AL2223Wd Office Line 22″ LCD monitor. The Acer AL2223Wd monitor has a recommended resolution of 1680 x 1050 with its WSXGA+ screen and the viewing angles are 160 degrees for both horizontal and vertical. Other specifications include a 300cd/m2 brightness, 800:1 contrast ratio, and 5ms response time. Both VGA and DVI are supported. For what it’s worth, this display is also Windows Vista certified.”
NZXT Steel Duet HTPC Enclosure – Affordable Home Theater Case
Tweak Town :: Monday, March 12, 2007
“Things have changed since those days. Personal computers have not only gotten more powerful, but the ability to have them fill holes within our lives has grown. One such niche market appeared with the advent of the HTPC. While maintaining a smaller footprint, this type of modern PC still manages to keep all of the computing power of its bigger brother.
As with any new market segment, products have come about to fill this new need, hence the production of HTPC enclosures such as the one we’re looking at today. The NZXT Duet is one of the more inexpensive HTPC enclosures on the market, so we want to see if it has the features we want as well as the appearance to set off our home theater/media center.”
Vigor Monsoon II Lite Active TEC CPU Cooling System
Legit Reviews :: Monday, March 12, 2007
“Vigor Gaming had to go back to the drawing table and make improvements to their design and find a way to cut costs on their TEC Cooler. I believe Vigor Gaming did just that with the Monsoon II Lite and they did so without hurting performance. They were able to keep the performance the same by not changing the fan, TEC or heat sink design and did away with some fluff that really wasn’t needed to start with. This version is being sold at 25% less than the original and performs exactly the same…”
Bluegears ‘B-Flexi’ & ‘B-Cool’ Cooling Fans Review
Virtual Hideout :: Monday, March 12, 2007
“The Bluegears fans will make nice additions to any case. The ability to change the colors of the LED’s on the b-flexi is the nicest option to have on a LED fan. Some days you may want a different color or no color at all. The b-cool120 is definitely cool in the way it’s able to display the RPM and case temperatures…”
NZXT Zero case review![]()
DV Hardware :: Monday, March 12, 2007
The NZXT Zero is part of the company’s Crafted Series and is a full-tower aluminum case. One of the things that sets this case apart from most other cases is the huge amount of air cooling – this case comes preloaded with seven 120mm fans and one 80mm fan! This is pretty impressive as most cases only have about two or maybe three fans. But won’t the almost ridiculous amount of fans make the case really loud? According to NZXT the case features quite cooling but that’s something we’ll obviously have to check while reviewing this case.
