Blu-ray Coming Your Way
Home Theater Magazine :: Sunday, March 05, 2006
SPHE says the BD movie releases will coincide with the introduction of the first commercially available BD player, the Samsung BD-P1000 (tentatively $1,000). According to Jim Sanduski, Senior VP of Marketing for Samsung Electronics America, the BD-P1000 will be available “to Best Buy, Circuit City and electronic specialty store consumers” on May 23. BD players from Pioneer (BDP-HD1) and Sony (BDP-S1) – along with a BD-compatible VAIO PC from Sony – will follow soon after that date. (No firm news yet on the arrival of Sony’s Playstation 3.)

Beam Me Up a Movie, Scotty
Home Theater Magazine :: Sunday, March 05, 2006

MovieBeam wants a piece of the $10 billion U.S. movie-rental industry, and they think they can do it by charging you $199.99 for the box (after $50 introductory rebate), a one-time service activation fee of $29.99, and between $1.99 and $3.99 per movie (add a $1 surcharge for HD – that’s right, HD – titles).

And they might just get it.

HIS Radeon X1600 XT Review
Hardware Secrets :: Sunday, March 05, 2006
“Radeon X1600 XT is the fastest graphics chip inside the latest mid-range graphics chip family from ATI. Today we will review HIS Radeon X1600 XT IceQ Turbo with 256 MB and we will compare its performance to other members of the Radeon X1000 series, to previous ATI chips and also with competing products from nVidia. EVGA e-GeForce 7300GS 256MB PCI-E Video Card Video Review #655:
3dgameman :: Sunday, March 05, 2006

“The EVGA e-GeForce 7300GS 256MB PCI-E Video Card is a wonderful product for anyone who requires a very quiet Home Theater PC. With its passive cooling feature, it’s completely silent. This product comes loaded with most of the current technologies like CineFX 4 graphics engine, Intellisample 4.0, TurboCache, PureVideo, and supports DirectX 9.0 Shader Model 3. Performance is reasonable, but this clearly is not a hardcore gamer’s card. Watch the Video to find out more…” ~3dGameMan.com

ASUS Geforce 6600GT EN6600GT Silencer/HTD Video Card @ Viper Lair
ViperLair :: Sunday, March 05, 2006
“Gaming performance was as expected, although since this is my first 6600GT card, I was actually quite surprised by how much performance was on offer. Much like the XFX 6600 we reviewed late last year, unless you’re playing at ultra high resolutions and HQ settings, you can get a lot of performance from the more modest hardware available.”

ATI Radeon X1900XTX – Performance and overclocking
OCModshop :: Wednesday, March 01, 2006

But nVidia’s shrewd moves were over and now it was ATI’s turn. ATI had in parallel with the R520 also developed a circuit codenamed R580. With a more mature 90nm manufacturing process and multiple enhancements to the core, it was now time for ATI to perform a castling and get back on the playing field

PowerColor 128MB Radeon X800 GTO Graphics Card
Big Bruin :: Wednesday, March 01, 2006

Quote: The PowerColor 128MB Radeon X800 GTO graphics card definitely provides a solid bang for the buck. It may not be one of the cutting edge cards out there, but it is priced at a mere fraction of one of those cards. The performance definitely out weighs the price, and if you want a graphics card that can keep up with some of the latest games without costing much more than $100, this one might be hard to beat.
