SilverStone ST75F 750W Modular PSU![]()
3dgameman :: Friday, November 03, 2006
“The SilverStone ST75F 750W Modular power supply performs very well and it’s completely modular with lots of leads. With 750 watts of continuous power, it has plenty of juice for the most demanding computer systems. It even comes with four PCI-E leads for a quad Video Card setup. If you’re in the market for a quality, rock-solid power supply, I’d definitely recommend taking a look at this product. Watch the Video to find out more…”
SilverStone 400W ST40EF Review
Techgage :: Friday, November 03, 2006
With power supplies pushing the stratosphere of over 1000 watts we lose sight of the needs of the basic user. If your system isn’t bleeding edge with terabytes of storage, SLI or Crossfire and a pair of power hungry processors you really don’t need tons of juice. If you’re like the majority of users out there with a couple of hard drives, a burner or two, a single video card and a dual-core processor you just need a simple, reliable power supply.
Foxconn 975X7AB-8EKRS2H Review
Ninjalane :: Friday, November 03, 2006
“The layout of this motherboard is very well designed with quite a bit of detail given to making room for two monster video cards. Of course if you don’t have two monster video cards you’ll get to use the abundance of expansion slots otherwise you’ll likely be down to a single 1x PCI Express slot and one regular PCI.”
Abit SG-95 Micro-ATX LGA775 Motherboard Review
Virtual Hideout :: Friday, November 03, 2006
“Having 7.1 channel High Definition Audio should reasonably attract anyone looking for the small form factor home theater solution or computer. Factor in the benefits of better dual processor and memory support, it will be more than capable for almost any system requirement not to mention keep you more up to date with newer….”
Scythe Ninja Plus Rev. B Cooler
Pro-Clockers :: Friday, November 03, 2006
As many of you will have picked up due to its name, this cooler is not, strictly speaking, a new cooler by Scythe. It is actually an improvement on a modern day classic. The Ninja Plus B is basically the same as the Ninja and Ninja Plus updated with support for AMD’s recently released socket, the AM2. The Ninja Plus really tamed the AMD socket 939 and socket T (Intel 775) processors so we assume the Plus B wont have any problems with the much cooler running AM2 processors. Let’s see how well it does against the top two air-cooling kings of Pro-Clockers!
be quiet! Dark Power Pro 430W
Bjorn 3d :: Friday, November 03, 2006
What can I say? While I did expect this PSU to be of high quality judging from their previous products I was skeptical if it would manage everything I would throw at it. I in some way had been fooled by the constant hunt for more Wattage and since I had problems running a similar system with some 500 and 600W PSU’s I didn’t think this PSU would be any better.
In the end I have to capitulate. Even with “just” 430W this PSU can handle a fully loaded system just fine, at least as long it is using a AMD CPU. It probably won’t handle Quad-SLI but we can’t really mark it down for that. This PSU clearly demonstrates that the quality and efficiency of a PSU is more important that the number of Watts and Amps it provides.
abit AW9D-Max Motherboard Review
Motherboards.org :: Friday, November 03, 2006
Intel is set shortly to announce their first Quad Core CPUs, according to their roadmaps. abit has assured me that the AW9D-MAX will support the Kentsfield CPUs. The AW9D-Max is an interesting mix of a 975X motherboard performance-wise, plus the special features you would expect from abit. I can heartily recommend this board for the enthusiast, as it offers excellent performance and Crossfire support right out of the box.

Let´s find out if the Triumph can keep successfully keep your CPU and its own TEC cool.”

Sapphire Radeon X1300 XT OC Edition
techPowerUp! :: Thursday, November 02, 2006
The new ATI Radeon X1300 XT is based on the RV530 GPU core which is used on the X1600 series. That alone should bring quite a nice performance boost. On top of that Sapphire has added GDDR3 memory and a healthy clock increase. There is no need to run an overclocking software on your system, the increased clocks are stored in the BIOS. In our testing we saw a huge performance difference to the X1300 and almost no difference to the X1600 series.

Ultra Products XVS Modular 600W ATX Power Supply Review![]()
Big Bruin :: Thursday, November 02, 2006
During testing of the Ultra Products XVS Modular 600W ATX Power Supply I did not encounter any serious issues. It is very quiet (especially once inside a closed case), and was indistinguishable over the other fans in the system. The supplied cables were long enough to reach everywhere in a Thermaltake Eureka full tower server case, and there aren’t many cases bigger than that.
Thermalright HR-05-SLI
Overclockers Online :: Thursday, November 02, 2006
The testing results also dictate that the HR-05-SLI can be added to a system to simply remove a noisy chipset cooling solution with a silent passive one while retaining all the cooling power if not providing more. I was impressed with the HR-05-SLI for both its cooling ability and the flexibility it provides to unique layout issues. Thermalright has always been a favorite of mine with a wide range of cooling products. Introducing the HR-05-SLI after the HR-05 proved to be troublesome in certain setups, shows that Thermalright are dedicated to helping every single user that has cooling needs.

Abit AB9-Pro 965 Motherboard
Viper Lair :: Thursday, November 02, 2006
“The Abit AB9-Pro is thus far the fastest Intel board I’ve tested, CPU and peripheral hardware being equal. Oveclocking went well, especially once we updated the BIOS. Whether overclocked or stock, the AB9-Pro was rock solid during testing. Out of the box, once everything was hooked up, the system ran like a champ. Those of you with extensive storage needs should be very happy with the nine SATA connections available.”
XSPC Bay single bay Reservoir review
Xtreme Computing :: Thursday, November 02, 2006
“Now maybe it is only a reservoir and not something to sing and dance about, but I have to say for me it is the best bay res on the market, for the first point it takes up only one bay instead of two and it can do this due to the dividers design layout. This is what makes it possible for the fluid to get right down to the lower levels indicated on the front without letting the output get air, even with its ¼ threads. I was shocked when I had to drain the system for a mobo change and even with only a few mm of water left the output section was still full! I can’t think of any other single bay res that employs a system like this that works so well. ”
Interview with Geoffrey Arone, co-founder of the Flock Browser
Tech Spot :: Thursday, November 02, 2006
Some people see the browser merely as a tool. Others see it as a means to an end. Flock attempts to provide that means, by acting as a “media and community interface” to the Internet and other people, rather than an information-polling device. I will admit that the idea is foreign to me, and didn’t make the most amount of sense at first. The more I had it described however, the clearer it became. Considering that there are millions of people who use the Internet to socialize and share with others, it makes perfect sense to have your interface to be dynamic rather than static. Geoffrey described to me the goal of the Flock browser and how it tries to accomplish this, then answered some questions I had relating to the Internet and browsers as a whole. After he summed up the purpose behind Flock, I asked him specific questions regarding the role of other browsers in business and the home.
Windows Vista 64-Bit only available for OEM?
Madshrimps :: Thursday, November 02, 2006
“A reader from our site recently went to a seminar about Windows Vista, when he asked them about the availability of the 64-bit version of the OS he was told that most likely Vista will follow in the footsteps of Windows XP 64-bit, meaning: only available to OEM, not in retail”

Sapphire Radeon X1650 PRO Video Card Evaluation
Hard OCP :: Thursday, November 02, 2006
“It is not often that the MSRP of a product is lower than it’s retail or street price, but that is the case with the Sapphire’s RADEON X1650 PRO. It does not have the performance to justify a $129.99 price tag, when a GeForce 7600 can so dramatically outstrip it for nearly the same price. If and when its price comes down to a realistic range, it will be a good video card at a good price. Right now, though, it is merely a mediocre video card at a high price.”
Jetart HDD Guard 3.5” HDD Protector![]()
Dragonsteel Mods :: Wednesday, November 01, 2006
” Today for review I have a product that I have to wonder why it took so long for someone to come up with… It is a Hard Drive Protector, called the HDD Guard from Jetart, but it’s for when the HDD is out of your case, maybe it’s just sitting on the shelf, or you are transporting it somewhere, but a bare drive is pretty much unprotected. Sure you can put it in one of those plastic casings, or in a box, but why, when you have a product like this? It’s just really cool, and extremely useful, especially for those of us that have a few spare HDDs floating around. This could come in handy for system builders, repair specialists, enthusiasts, or just about anyone who has a spare HDD. This is one of those products that I can see as becoming part of any enthusiasts toolkit, and I can also see it becoming very popular overall. Read on to check it out… ”
