ATI Radeon X1950 Pro vs. Nvidia GeForce 7900GS
Tech Spot :: Tuesday, November 21, 2006
It’s quite often that we find ATI and Nvidia rebadging their products. As it happens many times, relaunching an existing graphics card with a new name, tweaked settings and a better price point can do wonders. While there are many examples of successfully rebadged products, there are also those that have gone wayward. Today we will be taking an in-depth look into two of those “new” products, as both use parts handed down from existing current generation products, namely ATI’s Radeon X1950 Pro and the Nvidia GeForce 7900GS. Both of these cards fall into the $200 price bracket, and as fairly revised products that they are, we certainly expect a raging battle for the crown of the best mainstream graphics card in the market.

Dragonsteel Mods :: Tuesday, November 21, 2006
” With the launch of the Nvidia 8800 series of video cards, all other cards seem obsolete, but this is how it always happens, technology advances and those without the cash are left to make due with what they can. If you don’t have the cash to throw down on an 8800 series vid card, there are still many other options available out there, even the so-called budget cards are still very good for what they are. Today for review I have the Biostar 7600GS video card, it is a lower end card for the gamer on a budget, but still plays games and has some nice features including a very low price point, you can run two of them is SLI mode for about $200. Sennheiser MX 550 earphones![]()
DV Hardware :: Tuesday, November 21, 2006
About a year ago I bought the Sennheiser MX 550 earphones for my MP3 player. After using a pair of Sony earphones that came with my Sony Walkman for more than 6 years the right earphone suddenly stopped functioning. It’s kinda annoying to only hear the left channel of music so I decided to buy a new pair of headphones. I did some research on the web and decided to go for the Sennheiser MX 550.

More GeForce G80 Series Revealed
NGO HQ :: Saturday, November 18, 2006
Nvidia has already taken steps to reduce the amount of data leaks from their software. But, apparently they forgot about a leaked version of ForceWare 96.94. Nvidia provided this driver to the G80 reviewers and it seems that someone leaked it out. If you will open a file called “modes.txt” from the ForceWare 96.94 package, you will notice a few new G80 strings.

Abit iDome DS 500 and SW 510 Digital Speakers![]()
Tech Gear :: Saturday, November 18, 2006
“If there’s any criticism of the speakers, it can’t be its looks. The satellite speakers are quite attractive with the polished black finish and the cones showing through the metal grilles. On the primary speaker that contains the amp and volume controls, there is also a red LED that lights up the acrylic stand. To be honest, I don’t like this much mostly because the other speaker doesn’t have one to match it and partly because the power LED is blue would have looked a lot better. Situated at the back of the speaker is a switch which allows you to turn off the red LED light if needed.”

Gigabyte 7600GS w/ HDMI and Abit Fatal1ty AN932X reviews
Neoseeker :: Saturday, November 18, 2006
“Nvidia’s reference design made it possible for a passive cooler to exist on regular 7600 GS since core clock speeds were set at a relatively low 400 Mhz, but Gigabyte decided to bump up their core speed to 450 Mhz. The 7600 GS also sports 5 vertex shaders, 12 pixel shaders and 12 texture units. The increase in speed is relatively minor, so while it will help a bit with framerates during gaming, it isn’t high enough to overload the passive cooler. It does make it hot though which I’ll get to later. For the RAM on this board, Gigabyte used Hynix DDR2 memory chips rated for 2.5ns which run at 800Mhz and do not have much room for overclocking.”
Razer Barracuda HP-1 Surround Headphones![]()
The Tech Lounge :: Saturday, November 18, 2006
“While Razer is well known for their gaming mice and related accessories, they are just now beginning to diversify their product line, while still remaining true to their motto, “for gamers, by gamers.” The Barracuda is the first product by Razer that isn’t a mouse or mouse accessory so it’s definitely new territory for them. These headphones are actually only one half of the audio solution that Razer hopes gamers will buy into. These headphones sport surround sound a nifty boom mic, but are these really the ultimate headphones for gamers? We’ll see…”

Sonos Digital Music System ![]()
The TechLounge :: Tuesday, November 14, 2006
“I have discussed in many reviews the desire to live the digital lifestyle. This so-called new lifestyle has obviously been coined by many companies and countless marketing majors as they try to sell us their new products. These products range from high storage capacity NAS devices to full service media PC’s. Each company puts their own spin on a particular product, in an attempt to get the consumer to bring their music or their video off their computer and onto their device. Sometimes this works, other times it is a horrible failure. Today’s digital lifestyle contender is the Sonos Digital Music System. Basically, this is a network MP3 player. Although not exactly a groundbreaking idea, in the end it all comes down to execution. If you think about it, the iPod is just another MP3 player very similar to all the rest, but its execution (and arguably, the design) was spot on. What I want to know is if Sonos’ new ZP80 bundle is actually a well executed network MP3 player, or just another shot in the dark. For my tests, Sonos has provided a ZP80 bundle, ZP100 ZonePlayer, SP100 LoudSpeakers, and a Cradle.”

ASUS GeForce EN8800GTX Review
motherboards.org :: Tuesday, November 14, 2006
If image quality and performance are your schtick, the 8800GTX is the card for you. The new anti-aliasing modes are incredible looking. The ability to turn on HDR+AA without losing much framerate is another definite plus. Near-perfect angle independent anisotropic filtering makes NVIDIA the IQ leader even without Windows Vista games and Shader Model 4 games being on the market till next year. I am an avid gamer and prefer higher IQ to more fps. 1280×1024 16xq AA +16x AF is fully playable in almost every game I tried on the 8800GTX, with some games playable at 1600×1200.
