Larger organizations have strict software and licensing policies. Their networks run monitoring-software that detects and tracks all software running on all computers on the network. Some large corporations even revoke their employee’s permissions to install software on business computers. Often, they have people dedicated to monitoring licensing compliance. Small businesses seldom have sophisticated tools or the resources to monitor compliance. But lack of resources or time does not make their obligations go away; small businesses are still liable for software piracy and must take steps to prevent it.

“Neo HE is a high efficiency power supply series from Antec, hence the name “HE”. According to Antec, power supplies from this series have an efficiency of up to 85% (compare to 50% on regular power supplies), meaning less power loss – an 85% efficiency means that 85% of the power pulled from the power grid will be converted in power on the power supply outputs and only 15% will be wasted. This translates into less consumption from the power grid (as less power needs to be pulled in order to generate the same amount of power on its outputs), meaning lower electricity bills. Sure it might be a novel idea, and an easy way to get a front audio port, but what did you guys really expect – that a $50 audio “enhancer” could turn terrible, bottom of the barrel audio ICs around, and pump theater quality surround sound out of any speakers. Does the product do what it says it can – that being, to warm up, and humanize the audio – yes.

It is the lack of system backups or restore points that takes many by surprise. The conventional wisdom is that you should back-up documents and data — the valuable, irreplaceable business assets.
