External hard drive enclosures are quite handy to have these days. You can use them for backups, you can use them for transferring files, or you can even use them for general storage bins for some of your data (especially if you’re in to multimedia). The Sans Digital MobileSTOR Series MS2C1 drive enclosure is one such tool that is designed to house two drives in one small tidy unit, supporting both RAID striping and single/separate drive configurations (JBOD: Just a Bunch Of Drives). The MS2C1 was provided to us by Sans Digital for this thorough review, and currently retails for about $210 on Newegg.com.

The ASUS P5N32-SLI Deluxe is an excellent example of NVIDIA’s nForce4 for Intel x16 SLI motherboards. The fact that I was able to install and run an X6800 Core 2 Extreme CPU on the board is a definite plus, as the new Intel CPUs are the fastest on the market today. If you want HDA and the new features of the nForce 590 series grab the 590 boards when they reach the market.

Another review comes and goes at Overclockers Online and Thermalright has developed a product that isn’t marketed at the enthusiast scene. While we’re usually keen on seeing high performance high costing coolers from these fine folks, this is a change that will be welcomed by many of us who build and sell computers for customers. We’ll often hear, and I paraphrase, “give me something powerful, but quiet and that doesn’t cost a lot” and we’ll be torn between two worlds. Thermalright has elegantly designed a cooler that’ll satisfy that niche market.

One of their latest products is very unique, not only in design, but also functionality. Thermaltake calls this new product the Purepower Power Express 250W power supply (model W0099RU). I’m sure you’ve heard of at least one of those company names. Between the four names, there is a common underlying similarity. Those are names you do not see anymore. More specifically, those are companies that have either been bought out or merged. In a competitive market, there simply is not enough space for every company out there. A few companies either merge or are bought out to gain the competitive edge over the competition. Even a force as dominant as PanAm fell apart simply because it could not keep up.
