Consistent backups are a task everyone knows they should do, but surprisingly hardly anyone gets around to actually doing it. The fact is, your hard drive is the device on your computer most likely to fail and houses all of your data. What if your hard drive crashed or you got infected with the latest trendy virus? Do you have a good backup? What would you lose? Your business files? E-mail? Term papers? Let’s face it, hard drives are an inevitable disaster which we think only happens to other people, however it is a disaster which can be easily recovered from… if you are prepared. The product I will be reviewing today, Acronis True Image 9.1, is one possible solution to make sure you are prepared in the event of a disaster. If you are looking to upgrade your mouse to something a little more hip stylish and performance oriented, the MX1000 Laser mouse can certainly fit the bill. The buttons are easily programmable for gaming and the mouse fits very comfortably in the palm of your hand making for a very user oriented product as well. Overall there is nothing to really complain about here, the only thing that did bother me a bit was the fact that you have to go into the mouse properties and change its settings if you want to program the buttons in any way other than their default settings.

Back in January, when winter was in full force, we reviewed Oakley’s THUMP 2 glasses; their latest MP3 playing eyeware. The THUMP 2 were a major improvement over the original THUMP’s (which we also reviewed here). Today we have the newest item out of Oakley’s electronic eyeware line up, the O ROKR. The name is awfully similar to the ROKR cell phone from Motorola and for good reason. The O ROKR doesn’t actually contain any storage within itself but rather uses Bluetooth 2.0 technology to connect to other Bluetooth enabled devices that in turn will be the source of audio.

The Corepad Victory lacks ingenuity or stand out futures like their Eyepads did have. Available in larger sizes up to desk sized mats. This mousepad however just works as it’s supposed to work. But doesn’t really stand out. I tried this mousepad with my MX510 and it again works like any other mousepad I’ve tried. I wasn’t really over satisfied, but thought it wasn’t bad either. In the end, there are much better mousepads to look at. Some rather have a plastic like mousepad, instead of a mousemat. But I suggest you take a look at their Eyepad series which is worth every dollar.”

Here at BFR we’ve had the chance to review two of Samsung’s color laser printers, namely their CLP-510N and CLP-550. At the time of reviewing those printers, which was over a year ago, they were darn good machines in terms of print quality and speed. However, the 5 color pages per minute (ppm) speed the CLP-550 has is no longer as impressive as it once was. As with everything in the computer, printers have become faster and more efficient which is why today we have Samsung’s newest in their CLP (Color Laser Printer) lineup that boasts a speedy 20 ppm color speed. This is a 400% increase in color print speed over the course of 1-2 years.
