Thermalright Ultra-120 CPU Cooler
Think Computers :: Monday, October 2, 2006
“Back in June we took a look at the Thermalright HR-01 and were very impressed. Today we are taking a look at another cooler from Thermalright with the same type of design. The Ultra-120 features a tower design with aluminum fins. We are putting it up against the latest AM2 coolers to see if Thermalright can still remain number 1 when it comes to CPU cooling. Let’s take a look…”

Does the Technology Really Matter?
The Tech Zone :: Monday, October 2, 2006
Does the technology really matter in today’s world? Basically computer systems just work today, cell phones work almost anywhere now and with our mobile devices we are getting all of our office communications now while we are out and about. So does the technology matter? All the information flowing through cyberspace, through the airwaves, down the copper, does it matter how it gets to its destination?

Sapphire Quietly Launches an AGP Version of X1300XT

Transcend 2GB (2x 1024MB) DDR2-800 Memory Review
Big Bruin :: Monday, October 2, 2006
Given the no frills appearance of these modules, I had fairly low expectations for overclocking, and pretty much any gain was going to exceed them… Without touching the timings at all, and with only an increase in voltage from 1.80V to 1.85V, this kit was able to climb to DDR2-960 speeds. Although unstable at 1000 MHz, I did get into Windows, and can tell that with a bit of tweaking, and perhaps some more voltage, these modules could handle it. Another thing that might help with overclocking is some sort of cooling. Many may find heatspreaders to be all about presentation, but slapping a set on these memory modules might be worth the money!

The following is a list of the Internet’s eight biggest Google AdSense publishers. The information was compiled from interviews and articles found on the Internet. Icy Dock MB453SPF 3 Bay Hot Swap SATA Hard Drive Enclosure Review
Big Bruin :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
If you need to have multiple removable hard drives, the Icy Dock MB453SPF SATA enclosure works great, providing zero reduction in data transfer speed as compared to being directly wired to the SATA controller. There is nothing flashy about this unit, and it is all business when it comes to appearance and performance.

Thermaltake Armor JR VC3000BWS Midi-Case Review
Hardware XL :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
” Thermaltake started its core business based on our extensive knowledge of PC thermal management during the era where the area of performance CPU cooling was only exclusive for “overclockers” or PC enthusiasts. With the company’s initial launch of Orb coolers, it created waves of shocks and appraisals throughout the gaming and overclocking communities. Thermaltake quickly became the name gamers turn to when they need high-end and reliable thermal solutions. But apart from cooling solutions they are also a big name where computer cases concern. Today I will e looking at the Thermaltake Armor Jr VC3000BWS. The box had rough ride during it transport from Taiwan to The Netherlands, but don’t let the looks fool you. The content arrived without any scratches or dents:-) Let’s have a better look…. ”

T.M.X. Elmo
DragonSteel Mods :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
” Today for review I have something that I was very excited about getting, I think I may have been more excited than my kids when it got here… It has been ten years since the first Tickle Me Elmo ‘doll’ came onto the market, and Fisher Price and Sesame Street have decided to celebrate that anniversary with a new Elmo, called T.M.X. Elmo The original Tickle Me Elmo doll was a smashing success, it was THE must have toy for the holiday season and beyond, this new incarnation promises to be that and more, with pre-orders dating back to spring of this year. You might wonder why I might be reviewing it on DSM, I say Why Not? At the heart of T.M.X. Elmo is technology, T.M.X. Elmo could actually be categorized as a consumer electronic, or even categorized under robotics, so it fits right in here at DSM, besides I like fun things, and I have to say that this has been one of the most fun reviews I have ever done. So, please read on to learn all about T.M.X. Elmo and to see lots of pictures and video clips as well, of T.M.X. Elmo in action… ”

Datacolor SpyderTV Pro Review
XYZ Computing :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
A few month ago I reviewed the SpyderTV home theater calibration system from Datacolor. While the software was easy to use it seemed overly simplistic and in the end I was not sold on the final product. This was especially true after I had a chance to work with Datacolor’s Colorfacts kit which showed me just how much this company could do when they put some work into their software. (All of the kit’s use the same USB colorimeter so the difference is purely in the software.)

PC Power & Cooling 750w Silencer S75EPS PSU

OCZ PC2-6400 Special Ops Edition Urban Elite 2GB Kit Review
PC Modding Malaysia :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
“The PC2-6400 Special Ops Edition Urban Elite kit is a pretty impressive DDR2-800 kit from OCZ. The heatspreaders looked sleek and it would certainly add a touch of uniqueness to your rig. It was originally rated at 400MHz with 4-4-3 latencies but we had no issues running them over 500MHz. With a maximum warranted VDIMM of up to 2.3V with EVP, we managed to achieve 475MHz with 4-4-4 timings, which was not too shabby. In fact, these Urban Elite modules currently hold the fastest records in our labs and were faster than other expensive DDR2 modules we have tested here. Although it required higher voltages to overclock, it allowed us to overclock to 565MHz (DDR1130 – PC2-9040) at 5-5-5 timings and the system was rock stable even after 8 hours of “Prime” torture test. This overclock was the fastest we have seen on any Micron D9GMH based modules… ”

Thermaltake Aqua RX R-1
techPowerUp! :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
Thermaltake’s Aqua RX R-1 is a waterblock for memory modules. Overclocking the memory, in most cases, is unavoidable when you want to reach a higher CPU speed. Sometimes, the memory might limit your CPU overclock, and that’s when you start thinking about cooling your memory, to achieve even higher clocks. Watercooling memory is still in its infancy, but products capable of cooling the memory well are slowly making their way to the market.

OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Special Ops Edition Urban Elite Memory
Pro-Clockers :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
Once again we have a new memory product from OCZ. It seems that these people never rest. I guess if they aren’t in the forums helping people that are in the labs cooking up some new products to satisfy our overclocking appetites. Well we were fortunate enough to be sent the latest creation from OCZ. The SOE Urban Elite Series of DDR2 boast another colorful set of heat spreaders. Camouflage anybody? We all know that looks are one thing but how is the performance.

Corsair 620W Modular Power Supply
3dGame Man :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
“Modular power supplies are fantastic because they enable you to use only the leads necessary for your particular setup. This means a reduction in the amount of cables inside the case which not only looks great, but also increases airflow. The Corsair 620 watt power supply meets today’s standards, protections, has Active PFC, and has 80%+ efficiency. It also comes with a quiet 120mm fan and is NVIDIA SLI and ATI CrossFire ready. Watch the Video to find out more…”

XG Magnum 600 EX
techFEAR :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
“XG takes the utility of a 600 watt power supply, puts it in an anodized aluminum external case, and names it the Magnum 600 EX. techFEAR puts this external eight pound PSU on the test bench and finds out what’s on the inside.”

Anthro eNook Review
Digital Trends :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
“The eNook is positioned by Anthro as the place to drop your small devices so they can be plugged in and charged while not in use”

Maxtor’s DiamondMax 11 hard drive
The Tech Report :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
SEAGATE RECENTLY ACQUIRED MAXTOR in a stock deal worth close to $2 billion, but instead of assimilating the company and its products, Seagate looks prepared to let the Maxtor name live on. With Maxtor increasingly focused on external storage devices, there isn’t as much overlap between the two companies’ product lines as there once was. However, there’s still plenty of potential for clashing on the desktop hard drive front, where Maxtor’s DiamondMax 11 sits opposite Seagate’s latest Barracudas.

Little Laptop Museum at IDF Fall 2006
Hardware Secrets :: Sunday, October 01, 2006
“Even though IDF Fall 2006 only starts tomorrow, we had the chance to walk around at the Moscone Convention Center, where we could see a small laptop museum set by Intel, presenting, among others, an Osborne computer, the famous Compaq Portable and world’s first true laptop, Toshiba T1000.”
